The only thing wrong with obesity is the kind of pressure it puts on every single department of your body. Every body is beautiful, but not the stigmas that people face due to obesity.

Here's a quick chart to understand any risks you might face due to the pressure of blood in your arteries.

Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a severe medical condition in which the force of blood pushing against your artery walls is consistently very high.

The usual range of systolic/diastolic pressure is 120/80 mmHg or less. Hypertension is categorised as having a blood pressure exceeding 140+/90+ mmHg.

If you want to measure yourself, you would need to purchase a blood pressure monitor or get yourself checked with a doctor.

Olympic Athletes represent the epitome of health for us. Their focus on physical performance crosses many levels of barriers and constraints we have / put on ourselves. Yet, they are humans at the end of the day and aren't exempt for heart problems.

Nearly 7% of Olympic athletes have some form of cardiovascular abnormality, either structural or electrophysiological.

Nonetheless, exercise is still one of the fundamental factors that determine our heart risk. While these athletes are extensively active and occasionally face heart issues, the rest of us face a greater risk from our sedentary lives.

It's easy to incorporate exercise into your daily lifestyle. It can be as simple as picking up a 15min, full body exercise on YouTube and do it atleast every other day of the week.

The InterHeart Risk quiz is a detailed quiz that pinpoints the factors which cause or lead to heart attacks. (These are known as ‘risk factors’.)

408 individuals took the InterHeart Risk Score at Save The Young Heart over the past one month. Three separate tests were conducted over this one month to ensure data consistency.

The percentile results seen were similar across these tests. About 60% (248 people) fell into the low risk category, 30% (120 people) in the medium risk category and 10% (40 people) in the high risk category.

While about 60% are at low risk, the rest 40% still fall into the range of medium to high chances of getting a heart attack. In the most recent of the 3 tests we noted that people in the age range of 45-54 had the highest average score. (Higher risk)

With heart diseases being the leading cause of mortality, it’s always better to take a second opinion when it comes to your health.

By far one of the most common questions asked is "How do I differentiate between gas from acidity and a heart attack?". 💔

In this video, Dr. Anand talks about how we can differentiate them and what measures to take in case it feels like a heart attack.

Gas pain and heart attacks can be hard to differentiate, that's why we suggest taking a consultation with Dr. Anand or the other doctors on our platform. 👨‍⚕️

SAVE THE YOUNG HEART

Save the Young Heart provides science-based, national objectives for addressing the coronary artery disease epidemic among young adults. Heart health is determined not only by biological and genetic factors, but also by environmental, social and behavioral determinants.

Our campaign will create awareness among young adults about these factors, spark an interest to learn more about healthy living and inspire them to take action.

This campaign was developed mainly due to the passion of the founder and his desire to serve the society. Our interventions are mainly to bring awareness of preventing heart disease.
