A 12-year-old girl, daughter of a tea seller, came to our clinic with severe stomach pain and vomiting for 2–3 days. She looked very weak and tired, and was clearly in distress.

We examined her and found sharp pain in the upper part of her abdomen.

Because of limited resources, we could only do basic blood tests and an ultrasound, which came back normal. But her pain didn’t improve…

👉 Something didn’t feel right. Trusting my clinical experience, I decided to do one more blood test (serum lipase)—even though it wasn’t the obvious next step.

💥 The results confirmed my suspicion: Acute Pancreatitis – inflammation of the pancreas.

We started treatment with IV fluids and medicines, and slowly she started recovering.
Today, she is doing much better—and her smile was the best reward! 😊

💡 The takeaway? Even with limited tests, a doctor’s instinct and experience can save lives.
