Heal Track wishes you a very Happy Diwali for each and everyone. As we all know, because of pollution caused by crackers, we see and increasing issues of Asthma Attacks.

Share the below to the maximum so that it reaches our friends suffering from Asthma.

15 DIWALI TIPS TO KEEP AWAY ASTHMA:

1. Every morning, sip a glass of warm water on an empty stomach and then gargle your throat with warm water. Wait for half an hour before you eat anything

2. Throughout the day, eat every delicacy but in small quantities. For example; one can relish a quarter/small mithai or four to five pieces of nuts. If you want to have something fried, have very small portions. If you plan to eat parathas or something similar, remember to limit its quantity.

3. Eat four to six times a day if you have to but eat in very small portions. Avoid having heavy meals after 9 p.m. If you can, finish your dinner by 8 and then have some fruits if you are still hungry.

4. Before going to bed, sip a glass (250 to 300 ml) of warm water. This will help clear digestion as well as pollutants from the respiratory system.

5. Whenever you feel uneasy, take steam inhalation (without adding anything in the water).

6. Once a day, keep a hot water bag on your chest, back and stomach if you feel you have irregular breathing

7. If you have a mild attack, you can have some black coffee, ginger tea or green tea.

8. Try and sip a glass of fresh turmeric milk (haldi) with breakfast or anytime during the day.

9. If you exercise or go for a walk, make sure you do it after sunrise (after 7 a.m.) or in the late afternoons between 4.00 p.m and 7.00 p.m. Very early mornings and late evenings, smog descends lower in the atmosphere causing breathing difficulties

10. Avoid places where there is a lot of smoke. If you want to go out, then keep your face covered with a handkerchief.

11. Avoid alcohol and smoking. These are bad for asthmatics anyway, but at this time, these are especially dangerous

12. Sit down quietly and take twenty to thirty deep and slow breaths. Do this thrice a day. However, do not do this if you have an asthma attack

13. Practice Jala Neti every day, a yoga technique to clear your sinuses. This practice will help prevent attacks.

14. Practice different Yoga forms everyday.

15. Do not forget to have your medications as given by your doctor in excitement and enthusiasm. Also, keep your inhalers handy if you are traveling.

However, the most important tip is to be very joyous and happy this festive season. It has been found that if you do not think about asthma, you do not get an asthma attack, even if you are in heavy smog or pollution. This is precisely why it is called a psychosomatic disease. If the mind is happy and occupied, you will forget asthma. So have a great time this Diwali and enjoy lights, colors, food and festivities.

Your Personal Health Assistant Wishes you a very Happy and Safe Diwali.

Also we have few first aid for cracker burns ( we wish you won't need them)
1. One of the best ways to treat first degree burns is by running cold water over the affected area. You can also soothe the burn by placing a cold compress over the affected area. To relieve the pain, repeat this home remedy after every few hours. One tip to keep in mind is, do not use ice to soothe the burn as it will restrict blood flow, which can eventually cause damage to the delicate tissues.
2. Another way to help and treat first degree burns is by pouring cold milk over the area. Milk helps to soothe the skin and is good for after treatment as well. If you are using this natural remedy to treat your burn, make sure that you use skimmed milk.
3. It is said that raw potato can be used to treat minor skin burns. If you have burnt yourself this Diwali, make sure you use raw potato to soothe the area. Raw potato will also help to curb any irritation around the wound
4. Experts say that aloe vera is a good medicine to treat first degree burns in the case of cracker burns. Aloe vera has soothing properties which reduces the chance of having blisters too. To use this natural treatment, you need to first rinse the area with water before you apply the juice of aloe vera on the affected area.
5. Coconut oil is one of the easiest and best ways to treat cracker burns. The reason why coconut oil should be applied on your burn is because it has Vitamin E and fatty acids like lauric acid, myristic acid and capric acid which offer anti-fungal, anti-oxidising and anti-bacterial properties
6. Lemon is another home remedy you can use to treat cracker burns. Lemon juice is applied on the affected area two to three days. Lemon helps to lighten the burn area bringing it back to your normal skin tone.
7. To treat minor burns, you can use vinegar as it is has astringent and antiseptic properties. It is vinegar which also helps to prevent infection.
8. For cracker burns, cold black tea bags is going to help soothe your pain. The tannic acid in black tea can help draw heat out of a burn, and thus reduce pain. Place the tea bag on your affected area and wrap it around using a gauze. After a day remove the gauze, and then apply aloe vera gel on the cracker burn.
9. It is said that the faster way to heal a cracker burn is by using plantain leaves. It is the banana leaves which have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antihemorrhagic, and expectorant properties. You need to first crush a handful of banana leaves and extract the juice. This juice is then rubbed directly onto the burn.
10. Onions is one of the best ways to treat first degree burns. An onion is ground to make a paste, this paste is gently applied on the cracker burn. Initially it will burn, but once the paste is applied on the burn it will relieve the pain
