Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar proudly organized the program “Vande Mataram @150” and “Vocal for Local – A Pledge for Swadeshi” under the guidance of the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat.

With deep national pride, students and NSS volunteers took a Swadeshi pledge to prioritize Indian-made products and strengthen the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

🎉 Welcome Ceremony for Selected NSS Volunteers – West Zone Pre–Republic Day Parade Camp 2025 🇮🇳 📍 Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar | 🗓️ 4th November, 2025
Sankalchand Patel University’s NSS Cell proudly hosted a grand welcome ceremony for the NSS volunteers selected for the West Zone Pre–Republic Day Parade Camp – 2025, held at SPCE–Techsat Hall.
With the true spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava” – Guests are God, the university extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to all visiting NSS volunteers and Program Officers from across the West Zone.
The event was graced by Dr. Kamal Kumar Kar, Regional Director – NSS, Gujarat State, as the Chief Guest, who inspired the youth with his insightful words on national unity, discipline, and the power of service through NSS.
The program was presided over by Hon. President Shri Prakash Patel, and addressed by Dr. Parimal Trivedi, Registrar, SPU, highlighting the university’s remarkable contribution to national-level NSS activities.
Dr. A. B. Jadeja, Principal – BCA Department, delivered the welcome address, extending best wishes to all selected NSS volunteers representing the West Zone states of Goa, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Diu–Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of around 250 NSS volunteers and Program Officers, along with NSS coordinators and faculty members.
The program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Rakesh N. Patel (Assistant Director – Physical Education & Sports, NSS Coordinator, SPU) and Mr. Kamlesh K. Thakkar (NSS Coordinator – HNGU, Host University for West Zone PRD Camp).
✨ The celebration truly embodied the essence of patriotism, discipline, service, and social unity, strengthening the spirit of NSS.

Higher educational institutions are encouraged to celebrate International and National Days of Importance to raise awareness about issues such as how drug injection increases the risk of AIDS. This can help them take a stand against drug abuse and create a safe, supportive environment.
