The Kashi Vishwanath Temple at BHU, also known as the New Vishwanath Temple, is one of the most iconic landmarks inside the Banaras Hindu University campus in Varanasi. Unlike the famous Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple at the Dashashwamedh Ghat (the original jyotirlinga), this temple is a modern architectural marvel and a symbol of spirituality, education, and cultural pride.

Built by: The temple was envisioned by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the founder of BHU, and funded by the Birla family (famous industrialists).
Architecture: The temple is constructed using white marble and resembles the original Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It is considered one of the tallest temples in India with a spire (shikhara) soaring up to 77 meters (252 feet).
Deities: The main sanctum is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Vishwanath). The complex also houses shrines of Goddess Durga, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Goddess Saraswati, and Lord Nataraja, representing the unity of Hindu traditions.
Specialty: Unlike many temples, this one welcomes people of all castes and religions, symbolizing inclusivity and universal spirituality.
