✨ Complete excision of HPV-11 positive laryngeal papilloma in a 51-year-old female with no recurrence on follow-up ✨
🏆 Another milestone added to PHCC’s success!

DEPARTMENT OF ENT AT PEDDESWAR HEALTH CARE CENTER

A 51-year-old female presented to Peddeswar Health Care Center, Vijayawada, with a change in voice for the last 4 months, difficulty in swallowing, and difficulty in breathing for the last 1 month.

She was evaluated with a routine ENT check-up and video laryngoscopy, which showed a polypoidal mass arising from the right TVC (CA larynx / laryngeal papillomatosis). After completing anesthesia fitness, she was planned for surgery.

On direct laryngoscopy, a sessile grape-like growth was seen arising from the entire right TVC. The rest of the endolarynx appeared normal.
Under the care of Dr. B. Pavan Kumar and team, the following procedure was performed:

Direct laryngoscopy
Excision of papilloma
RT TVC stripping
Injection laryngoplasty with cidofovir under GA

The surgery lasted one hour and was well tolerated. The patient was shifted to the ward after surgery and discharged the next day.

Post-operation HPE was suggestive of laryngeal papilloma, HPV-PCR type-11.
A one-month follow-up laryngoscopy showed no recurrence or residual lesion on video laryngoscopy.
