Arogyaraksha Rural Healthcare Innovative effort to provide high quality healthcare with particular focus on making healthcare accessible to rural areas

Healthcare accessibility in rural areas is limited due to which people living in villages and small towns often have to make a long trip to urban areas like Visakhapatnam. The cost is enormous in the form of money spent for journeys and time spent, all for simple consultation with specialists. While it is understandable that secondary and tertiary care can be provided in urban centres, for purpose of better economic viability of healthcare facilities, consultation services along with appropriate diagnostic facilities should be made available at the doorstep of rural citizens. With this in mind our team has come up with this unique model of healthcare delivery in Yelamanchili, Visakhapatnam District. The idea is to bring in specialists from urban centres to provide consultation service atleast on a weekly basis and provide utmost satisfaction to patients and doctors. Apart from providing clinical care, the centre will be a hub for rural healthcare education to patients and carers, continuous professional education for healthcare practitioners and partnering with NGOs in extending healthcare programs to rural population.

2. Mental illness and mental disability - 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month 10.30am-1pm
3. Free diabetes screening followed by consultation -1st Wednesday of every month.

And cardiology consultation every Monday 6.30-7.30pm for participants in screening program.
