Dear friends and family,
Welcome to Breathwork Iceland!
Some of you might know that for the past few years I’ve become totally obsessed with the power of breath and breathwork, and I am now finally at the point where I have almost graduated as a certified Breathwork facilitator from Alchemy of Breath (www. https://alchemyofbreath.com/). All that’s missing in order to graduate is a bit of training, which is why I’d like to offer you all free breathwork sessions!
What is breathwork?
Breathwork is a term used to refer to different breath exercises, techniques and programs that consciously focus on exhalation and inhalation. Breathwork has been practiced since antiquity and is the subject of much modern study. Breathwork is studied in various modern fields and is one of the fastest, most effective ways to control the autonomic nervous system.
Breathwork is a means to improve psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being, It’s a self-healing practice to help work on blocked emotions, energy and unresolved trauma. Breathwork can support healing, increase energy levels, improve rest and increase mental and creative focus.
I tried breathwork for the first time in the beginning of 2020, and it only took a few weeks of practice before I started to see and experience the amazing benefits that breathwork can have on your overall mental and physical health. In my case I first noticed that my mood was better, but the biggest shock was chronic back problems getting progressively better week by week, something that I had given up all hope on!
Breathwork in some form is an indispensable part of each day for me now, and given how it has changed my life for the better, my dream is to teach everyone about this amazing tool that each of us has.
I’m offering both group sessions and individual sessions.
The group sessions take about 1 hour 30 minutes total, active breathing time there of about 45 minutes.
Max number of people for a group session is 7.
An individual session takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, active breathing time depends on each person.
In the session we look at the individuals’ breathing patterns, look into if/how they can be corrected (if needed), determine what kind of regular exercises could benefit the individual and so forth.
I’ll be offering a regular group session (almost) every Wednesday at 17h30 in Heilshugar (www.heilshugar.is), Skipholti 25, 3rd floor.
First session is on February 15th, and then most Wednesdays until spring.
(Exceptions on February 22nd, March 15th, April 26th - no breathwork on those dates)
As there are only 7 spots available, please book your spot in advance at breathwork.iceland@gmail.com
Group sessions are in Icelandic or English, depending on group and group wishes.
I recommend wearing loose clothing, and not to eat a heavy meal for at least 2 hours before session.
Please don’t hesitate to share this page with anyone you think might need a breather. 😉
Love & gratitude,
Sigga Daney
