What Does a Health Coach Do?

A health coach is a wellness professional who helps you reach your health and lifestyle goals by taking a holistic approach—addressing diet, energy, stress, sleep, and habits.
They don’t diagnose or treat conditions, but work alongside healthcare providers to support lasting change.

How They Help:
* Improve nutrition and lifestyle habits
* Boost energy and motivation
* Manage stress and sleep
* Support gut, hormone, and chronic health issues
* Provide structure, accountability, and personalized strategies

Tools They Use:
* Goal setting
* Regular check-ins
* Health education
* Behavior change techniques

Why Work With One?

People work with health coaches when they:
1. Struggle with unresolved symptoms (fatigue, gut issues, brain fog, etc.)
2. Need accountability to follow through
3. Feel overwhelmed by conflicting health advice
4. Want support managing lifestyle-driven conditions like PCOS or insulin resistance
5. Prefer a root-cause, functional approach to wellness
6. Seek prevention, optimization, or performance support
7. Need help applying medical advice in real life

Over the past few years, the number of conversations I have had about fertility, pregnancy, loss, miscarriage, ivf, failed cycles, and all the things that come with trying to create a family have been countless.

I know first hand the frustration, devastation, and heart break that goes along with this process. I also know countless women who have all experienced loss in some way.

Today is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day — which honors the individuals and families affected by miscarriage, stillbirth, and other losses.

Finding ways to be there for each other and show support can be hard. But letting your friends and loved ones know you are there, being an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on can go a long way.

If you have struggled to become pregnant, stay pregnant, or have experienced loss. You are not alone. Sending my love. 💕💫😘

Hello! I have been a bit absent. My last post was in May from Italy 🇮🇹🍷🥳

A lot has happened since then… Baby Bo Damaso joined us May 24th of 2022.

(Yes I was galavanting around Europe until May 19th 🤷🏻‍♀️ his due date was June 5th. I thought I had plenty of time 😬)

Funny thing, months later I find my self back in Italy with Mike and Bo! 👏🏽🙌🏽👶🏻

18 weeks ago my baby boy was born. He was 6 years in the making….

(Yes, 6 years is actually forever)

I don’t think I could have imagined in that time period how much his presence would change my life or how much I could actually love another being.

I can’t wait to see his giggly smile each morning or how he does the cutest stretch routine every time I take a sleep sack off of him. Every day I am blown away.

Patience… which is not really a virtue that I possess. But it is something I have had to learn. I think it has made me a better spouse and parent.

It has made me appreciate the point in time that I am at. The good, the bad, all of the moments amazing moments along the way. And to each step of the way going forward.

Grateful for the journey here, the emotional growth that came with the process, and all of the amazing support along way.

With all hard things we have choices. We can lean in and be uncomfortable along the way. With faith, confidence, and hard work we land where we want.

(Keep on trucking.)

Thank you for your support along the way. Wishing you all the best! 😘🙌🏽🥳👏🏽🥰🙏🏽

After 15 years of being a party of 2 we are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary counting down the days til we have a +1

Yesterday we talked about how being tired makes you crave sugar and junk food.

But what if that doesn't have to be your destiny on days you are running on only a few hours of sleep?!

While making good choices when you are overtired might not be your first instinct. I promise it will make you feel better!

When you are running on empty but need to power through, reach for root vegetables like sweet potatoes, beets, or carrots. They are naturally a little sweet and have complex carbohydrates that will give you energy without the crash! Make sure to add some healthy fat like avocado or olive oil and a hand size portion of protein. This will keep you satiated longer and give you the energy you need to get through your day.

What are your favorite healthy meals when you need a boost?

I talk a lot about incorporating movement into your day and staying active.

For me finding something I love, like skiing, has been such a motivator!

I love being outside, playing in the snow, with friends, pushing my self physically and mentally on challenging terrain.

I love knowing that my body is strong and physically capable to take on the challenges I put in front of it. This motivates me to keep moving.

Yes, there are days that working out seems like a drag. But never in my 43 years of life have I regretted a workout when I was done.

That feeling of accomplishment, the sweat on your brow, the endorphins, all worth what sometimes is a slow start.

Having a workout buddy always makes things more fun. But working out solo can be meditative and mentally therapeutic.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

And, what is your favorite way to be active?!

Over the past week I have spoken a lot about little things that you can do to improve your health each day.

Some of you have noticed it’s pretty repetitive. Eating veggies, moving your body, getting enough sleep, manage your stress, and getting enough sleep.

Being healthy doesn’t need to be hard. Or time consuming. Or cost a lot of money.

Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to dive into each of these with a little more detail.

I look forward to hearing more about your goals for the year and sharing health supporting info! 😘

“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” ~ Aristotle

Did you know that being happy can actually make you healthier?!

Research shows that being happier doesn’t just make you feel better — it actually brings a host of potential health benefits.

Being happy may help promote a healthy lifestyle. Studies show that happier people are more likely to eat healthier diets and engage in physical activity.

Being happy may help keep your immune system strong, which might help you fight off the common cold and chest infections.

Stress increases levels of the hormone cortisol, which can cause weight gain, disturbed sleep and high blood pressure. Happy people tend to produce lower levels of cortisol in response to stressful situations.

Being happier can help lower blood pressure, which may decrease the risk of heart disease. However, more research is required.

Happier people live longer. This may be because they engage in more health-promoting behaviors, such as exercise.

Being happy may reduce the perception of pain. It appears to be particularly effective in chronic pain conditions such as arthritis.

Being happy may have some other potential benefits, including reducing the risk of frailty and stroke. However, further research is required to confirm this.

Ways to Increase Your Happiness:
* Express gratitude
* Get active
* Get a good night’s rest
* Spend time outside
* Meditate
* Eat a healthier diet

Clients ask me all the time how to stick to their healthy habits when eating out. I find with a little pre-planning and being the one to make the reservation, sticking to your healthy eating plan can work really well!

I hope these tips and suggestions help you then next time you are heading out to meet friends or family for a meal!

Pre-planning:

Pick the restaurant – be the one in your party to make the restaurant suggestion. Look for farm-to-table options to ensure good quality ingredients. Have a few different cuisines ready to entice your dinner-mates to eat at one of your favorites.

Browse the menu – before you go, take a look at the menu and decide what you will order. It helps to avoid temptations once you arrive.

At the scene:

Be the first – place your order first so that you aren’t swayed by everyone else’s choice.

Starters – stick to seasonal salads, deviled eggs, guacamole (ask for crudités instead of chips), or oysters. They’re nutrient-dense, delicious, and still feel indulgent and festive.

Main – you can’t go wrong with fish, chicken, or beef and vegetables – and splurge on the sauce! If someone else’s pasta/fries/etc. look amazing, ask for a bite.

Sides – if you need more to fill you up, order seasonal sides like roasted Brussels sprouts, sautéed kale or spinach, or any interesting vegetables they have.

Dessert – avoid dessert! But if it’s a special occasion or there is something you can’t turn down, get one and share it with the table.

Hi! Happy Friday 🎉

As we roll into summer, just wanted to check in and see what content has resonated, what you want more info about, and how I can help you be your healthiest self!

I have been doing a lot of self experimentation with continuous glucose monitoring, sleep tracking, and using mindfulness and meditation to manage stress and regulate glucose levels. I look forward to sharing all of this with you over the next few weeks!

I get lots of questions about meal planning, keto vs fasting, and how to fit exercise into a busy schedule.

Share what you would love more info about 😘
