You’ll know that you have taken control of your IBD when you can eat any type of food containing fibre without any issues.

Most people with IBD are told to avoid eating foods which contain fibre because it will make their symptoms worse.

So the only way you can truly have a life beyond IBD is when you can eat all the fibre you want without any issues or symptoms.

For example, if a diabetic cannot eat foods containing sugar without having high blood sugar, they are not healed from diabetes.

Avoiding sugar is not the way to get rid of diabetes, you need to be able to eat sugar and have your body keep the blood sugar levels under control.

Avoiding fibre when you have IBD, is like a diabetic avoiding sugar. The symptoms may be reduced or gone. But the disease is still there.

Probiotics and fermented foods are not going to heal your IBD.

They’re everywhere. Everyone is talking about how essential they are for gut health. How you need them to “rebalance” your microbiome and finally start healing.

And so you tried them. You went out and spent a bunch of money hoping they’d make a difference…

Only to find they didn’t really change anything. Or, the change was so minimal it was hardly worth it.

Look, having healthy gut microbiome matters — massively. But probiotics are not the best way to go about it.
