Skin is a living tissue, shaped continuously by what the body absorbs, circulates, and repairs.

Rose contains polyphenols that help calm inflammatory pathways and support the skin barrier. It is traditionally associated with cooling excess heat in the body, which often presents externally as redness or reactivity.

Hibiscus is rich in anthocyanins and vitamin C, both involved in protecting collagen from oxidative stress. It also gently encourages circulation, helping deliver oxygen and nutrients to the skin.

Nettle is one of the most mineral-dense plants used in Western herbal practice. Its silica, magnesium, and iron content support connective tissue integrity, elasticity, and cellular repair.

Together, these plants nourish structure, support circulation, and help regulate inflammation, all processes that contribute to resilient, vibrant skin over time.

Topical care has its place. Much of the skin’s vitality, however, is built internally. I tend to return to simple infusions like this again and again. Consistency is often more influential than complexity.

A look back at what I wore in January.

Clothing has always been one of the ways I understand myself. My mood, my energy, my balance between masculine and feminine. Color, texture, and movement both mirror and shape how I feel.

After so many years of travel, the pieces I carry are a reflection of how ive lived- especially the past few years, only owning what i cpuld carry on my back. Most of my clothes are small practical souvenirs from people I love or places that changed me. My wardrobe has become a kind of living memory of things ive found around the world or ive people i love.

My mom started working at a consignment store this year while shes pursues her acting career, and she has absolutely nailed my yogi style while shes keeping her eye out for pieces for me. Thank you Mom!

Life here in January has been centered around teaching yoga and spending time with patients at Lawayra (in Colombia), so this month leaned toward comfort and freedom to move.

I will be able to hold a handstand in a month. Then ill teach you how. Any tips or advice are much appreciated!

Right now, im scared! Its hard to admit, especially when i feel my success in life has come from being fearless. Ive been teaching yoga for 12 years, but the practice to me has never been aboutnthe challenging poses- its been abput calming my mind, shifting my energy, and having freedom in my body.

Now i want the freedom to go upside down!!!

To prepare mugwort tea, steep for five to seven minutes.

Drink it at night and use it sparingly, not every day.

Mugwort is especially supportive for women during menstruation. It’s traditionally used to help warm the uterus, encourage circulation to the pelvic area, and ease cramping. It has also been associated with fertility support for this same reason. (But men can drink it too)

Because of how mugwort interacts with the nervous system (it contains mildly psychoactive compounds like thujone that influence GABA activity in the brain), it can affect sleep architecture. Mugwort is known to help you enter REM sleep more quickly and often leads to more vivid, memorable dreams.

There’s also a quiet mythic thread woven through this plant. Mugwort is named after Artemisia, linked to Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon, wild places, and women’s cycles. For centuries, it’s been associated with intuition, liminal states, and the space between waking and dreaming.

Historically, mugwort was used throughout ancient Europe, particularly in Germany, as well as in ancient China and the Mediterranean region, including Greece and Rome.

We’ve chosen an isolated place in Lecce, near the sea. We’ve brought together a mindful chef and intuitive facilitators. We will lock our phones away, practice yoga and meditation, and spend time in silence. The breathwork may open you in unexpected ways.
