The word ‘Bandha’ means to lock or tighten. Various parts of the body are gently but powerfully tightened, to hold the energy and stimulate the physical part of the body to affect our glands. The practice of bandhas has the effect of massaging the organs, removing stagnant blood, stimulating and regulating the nerves connected with these organs. Bandhas direct energy flow through the nadis and lock energy inside your body for detoxification and transformational healing purpose.

What you see in the photo is Uddiyana Bandha (Solar lock).
Among many other benefits, Uddiyana Bandha is the panacea for many abdominal and stomach ailments, constipation, indigestion, worms, diabetes etc. All the abdominal organs are toned and rendered more efficient. The liver, pancreas, kidneys, spleen are all massaged and made healthier.

So many reasons to be grateful. Winter is nearly over and I’ve really appreciated the nature that surrounds Casananda. From the citrus fruits from our garden to the wild flowers on my daily ramblings with Billy. Feeling blessed to have been able to isolate here this time round. A lot of time spent solo, so huge gratitude my friends and family who have helped keep me sane from afar. 🙏 🙏🙏
