💜 The Home for Single Mothers of the Holy Family, run for over 17 years by the Sisters Missionaries of Christ the King in Chicago, was created to give pregnant women and single mothers a safe, family-like place to rebuild their lives. The Sisters, who have long supported immigrant Polish communities across Chicago’s parishes, founded this home after witnessing how many mothers had nowhere to turn in moments of crisis.

More than 164 mothers and 209 children have received shelter, guidance, and compassionate care, and 12 children have been placed for adoption when a mother was unable to care for them. Today, 6 mothers and 8 children live in the home, supported through donations and the annual Christmas Eve candle fundraiser.

The mission of the Home is simple and profound: to offer mothers and children safety, dignity, and hope, helping them secure work, access benefits and health care, navigate legal protection from domestic violence, find schools, receive emotional and spiritual support, and prepare children for the sacraments.

A place where every mother in need can find refuge… and where every child is welcomed with love. 💜

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe 👑

Christ reigns because He bowed lower than all.

In Scivias, Part II, Vision 2, Saint Hildegard sees Christ as:
💎“the bright sapphire figure… seated in the midst of the wheel of creation.”

This is Christ the King enthroned over all worlds, the medieval equivalent of “Christ the King of the Universe.” 💎

In Liber Divinorum Operum, Saint Hildegard presets Christ as:
👑 the cosmic King who orders the universe
👑 the divine Word enthroned at the center of creation
👑 the ruler whose Light sustains every creature

She sees a universe filled with Christ’s “lumen vivum,” the living Light, which is the royal radiance of His governance. 👑
