I can’t quite describe the feeling I used to get when I came to Italy… but the feeling I have today is completely different, because I live here now.

If visiting was hard to put into words, living here is even harder to explain.

I feel complete.
I feel like I belong.
Life moves slower… yet everything that truly matters still gets done.

So why do we live with such urgency?

Like that line I used to hear growing up…
“The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.”

At some point, I decided I didn’t want to live like that anymore.

And the truth is…
I grew up with it.
They call it the Roseto Effect.
Not just what you eat… but how you live.
How you gather.
How you take care of one another.

And somewhere along the way…
so many of us lost it.

The truth is—you can choose a slower life anywhere.
But sometimes you need to experience it again… to remember.

Two weeks ago my cousin Carter called me... She told me she missed me and I reminded her that she was coming to see me this summer.
Then her voice sort of cracked and I asked what was wrong... And she said... “I want to come see you now!” I said OK!
She called me the next day and said. “I’m on my way! See you Monday!”
So here at the end of the winter... With clouds and rain and even a bit of snow... We’ve had a great time!
Foggia for a food show. The Market in Lucera. Alberobello. Good food. Making pasta.....
And.... Person of Interest‼️😉🤣💻

This morning I had the joy of thanking these officers for their service… and of course sharing a few homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Such a simple moment, but one filled with kindness, connection, and a lot of smiles. And then they asked for a photo with me! That definitely made my day. 🇮🇹🍪
