Hey RIC, because it is our first meeting and our first event, We had to make it special with our first guest Dr. Hassan Abu Shukair, Dr. Hassan is a sixth year medical student at JUST, and He is currently one of the most promising researchers in the oncology field, He is currently standing up on 54 publications in the most profound journals, Dr. Hassan attended ASCO’s(American Society of Clinical Oncology) annual meeting of 2022, and AACR’s annual meeting in which he was selected to serve as Co-Chair of AACR(American Association for Cancer Research) Global Scholar Alumni Committee, Dr. Hassan is aiming to be a physician-scientist in oncology in the USA.
In this meeting, I covered the most important points that a med student looking to dive into research should know, the main questions covered in the meeting were:
What is research?
Why is research important for med student?
How did you start research?
Where is the starting point?
What skills should a student learn to excel in research?
How can a med student balance between research and med school?
Is research accessible for med students in their first years of med school?
What advices would you give for med students in their 1st,2nd, 3rd year?
How can a med student find research opportunities?
Dr. Hassan supported our initiative, and is willing to provide us with more assistance and opportunities in the future.

،بما أنه أول لقاء لنا وأول حدث لنا، وجب علينا أن نجعله مميزًا مع ضيفنا الأول الدكتور حسان أبو شقير، الدكتور حسان طالب طب في السنة السادسة بجامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا “JUST”، وهو حاليًا أحد أكثر الطلاب الباحثين ذوي المستقبل الواعد في تخصص علم الأورام، ونشر إلى يومنا هذا 54 بحث في المجّلات الأكثر شهرة، وقد حضر الدكتور حسان الاجتماع السنوي لـ ASCO (الجمعية الأمريكية لعلم الأورام السريرية) لعام 2022 بمنحة كاملة، والاجتماع السنوي لـ AACR الذي فيه تم اختياره للعمل كرئيس مشارك للجنة خريجي العلماء العالمية (AACR) (الجمعية الأمريكية لأبحاث السرطان)، ويهدف الدكتور حسان إلى أن يصبح طبيبًا وباحثًا في علم الأورام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
تناولت في هذا اللقاء أهم النقاط التي يجب أن يعرفها طالب الطب الذي يتطلع للتعمق في مجال البحث، وكانت أهم الأسئلة التي تناولها اللقاء هي:
ما هو البحث؟
ما أهمية البحث لطلاب الطب؟
كيف بدأت البحث؟
أين هي نقطة البداية؟
ما المهارات التي يجب أن يتعلمها الطالب للتفوق في البحث؟
كيف يمكن لطالب الطب أن يوازن بين البحث ومدرسة الطب؟
هل البحث متاح لطلاب الطب في سنواتهم الأولى في كلية الطب؟
ما هي النصائح التي تقدمها لطلاب الطب في عامهم الأول والثاني والثالث؟
كيف يمكن لطالب الطب العثور على فرص بحثية؟
كما قد دعم الدكتور حسان فكرتنا ، وهو على استعداد لتزويدنا بمزيد من المساعدة والفرص في المستقبل.
