Youth Empowerment Program Initiative

Youth Empowerment Program Initiative YEPI is a non-political and non-profit organization that addresses unemployment, poverty and violent

Where your dreams become aspirations and your aspirations become achievements—that is the YEPI's experience. Since our founding, we haven’t wavered from our promise:

Our youths, along with a handful of other dedicated volunteers, started the organization in order to offer free training in business skills accessible to our youths who are most at risk for unemployment and poverty: the orphaned, unskilled, disabled, single parents, and court-involved youth. A key assumption underlying YEPI’s work is that all individuals deserve the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential, regardless of disability, economic status, family circumstances or prior history. YEPI’s approach to offering training is within a context of supportive services that enable trainees to overcome typical barriers to achievement. We are YEPI, where curiosity finds inspiration; where selflessness becomes service; where small individual encourage others; where creativity and innovation open doors and change lives; and where diversity enriches us all.

We are excited to bring together a vibrant groups of youth from 4 sub-counties in Mombasa for the official kick-off and orientation for our Basic Entrepreneurship Skills Training (BEST) program! The kick-offs marked the beginning of an exciting 8-week journey where participants will gain skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, and financial management to transform ideas into opportunities. A huge thank you to our partners Swahilipot Hub and Global Opportunity Youth Network in collaboration with Imaginable Futures for making this possible. This is just the beginning! We can't wait to see the incredible impact these young change-makers will create in their communities! .0

We were honoured to host a team from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation (CNHF) for a breakfast meeting at the YEPI Community Entrepreneurship Hub. During the session, the CNHF team had the opportunity to learn more about our journey and impact over the last 10 years. They also got to engage with the YEPI Team, Board members, and connected with some of our inspiring alumni who shared their powerful stories of transformation. We are truly grateful for the support and belief of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in our mission to empower and enable opportunities for youth and women in the coastal region of Kenya. .0
