4days journey.🚘😱
Flood destroyed the road.
9 hours waiting.
But the mission of Awoche Foundation never stopped. 💙
On our way to Lokichar Girls Primary School in Turkana County, floods destroyed the road in West Pokot County.
Instead of waiting, we visited St Luke Chepkorniswo Senior School near Kapenguria and mentored students.
The next morning we finally reached Lokichar where girls were mentored on SRHR and menstrual health and received toiletries.
The smiles made the journey worth it. ✨😊🔥💝

Sometimes the road to impact is not smooth—but the mission must continue.💪💕💕
Our team at Awoche Foundation travelled for two days towards Lokichar Girls Primary School in Turkana County to mentor girls and distribute essential toiletries.
While passing through West Pokot County, a flooded river destroyed the road, forcing us to wait for 9 hours.🕑❣️
But instead of waiting and doing nothing, we decided to make an impact where we were. We visited St Luke Chepkorniswo Senior School near Kapenguria, where we conducted a mentorship session with students.
After the road was repaired, we continued our journey through the challenging ASAL region and arrived the following morning at Lokichar Girls Primary School.
We were warmly welcomed by the DCC, the local chief, the headmistress and the girls. During the session, the girls were mentored on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and the menstrual cycle, and they also received various toiletries.
Despite the long journey and challenges, the smiles on the girls’ faces reminded us why this work matters.

Because every girl deserves knowledge, confidence and care. ✨☑️

For two days, the team from Awoche Foundation travelled towards Lokichar Girls Primary School in Turkana County to mentor girls and distribute essential toiletries. Along the way, while passing through West Pokot County, a flooded river destroyed the road and we were forced to wait for 9 hours.
But instead of giving up or simply waiting, we chose to turn the delay into impact. We visited St Luke Kepkorniswo Senior School near Kapenguria, where we conducted a mentorship session with students.
Later, after the road was repaired, we continued our journey through the challenging ASAL terrain ; a region also affected by banditry. Despite the difficulties, the following morning we finally arrived at Lokichar Girls Primary School.
The reception was heartwarming. The DCC, the local chief, the headmistress, and the girls welcomed us warmly. Our team mentored the girls on SRHR and the menstrual cycle, and distributed various toiletries to support their hygiene and dignity.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. When communities come together, challenges become part of the journey not the end of it.
Every girl deserves knowledge, dignity, and support.

We are preparing for a life-changing visit to Turkana County, where we will be supporting the amazing boys and girls of Kamerese Comprehensive School.
Many of these students face serious challenges _ from lack of basic necessities to limited resources in school. Yet their determination to learn and succeed is powerful and inspiring.
We are choosing to stand with them.
To stand for dignity.
To stand for education.
To stand for hope.
