The National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK), in partnership with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Girl Child Education Fund (GCEF), conducted a mentorship and monitoring visit to schools in Kiambu and Nairobi Counties, where beneficiaries of the program are enrolled.

The visit was led by the 1st Vice Chairman of NNAK Hon.charles sande and the ICN GCEF Kenya Coordinator, together with Dr. Edna Tallam Kimaiyo, the ICN GCEF Representative. The purpose of the visit was to assess the academic progress of the girls, provide mentorship, and reaffirm the Fund’s commitment to supporting vulnerable girls through education.

The team visited:

*Santapris Academy, Mary Hill Girls High School and Loreto Girls High School

During the visits, the girls expressed gratitude for the support received, noting that NNAK fully caters for their school fees and essential shopping items, enabling them to focus on their studies without financial strain.

School administrators and teachers lauded the initiative, describing it as impactful and timely, especially for girls drawn from vulnerable backgrounds and families of departed nursing colleagues.

The NNAK–ICN GCEF partnership continues to play a critical role in promoting access to education, mentorship, and empowerment for the girl child, reaffirming the shared commitment to nurturing future leaders through education.

Every year, thousands of women in Kenya face a disease that is largely preventable, cervical cancer.

With over 3,500 deaths annually, the need for a strong, simple prevention strategy has never been greater. That strategy is here: the single-dose HPV vaccine, endorsed by the World Health Organization as safe, effective, and long-lasting.

We are promoting the single-dose HPV vaccine as the only arsenal in eliminating cervical cancer from Kenya.
One dose. One generation. Zero cervical cancer.
