In a heartwarming show of courage, resilience, and sisterhood, breast cancer survivors came together for a special support group gathering dedicated to celebrating life beyond cancer. The event brought together women from all walks of life — each with her own story of struggle, hope, and triumph.

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, emotion, and gratitude as the women shared their journeys — the challenges faced during treatment, the fears overcome, and the strength found in one another. It was a space where stories of pain were transformed into lessons of perseverance and where every scar stood as a symbol of victory.

As they celebrated milestones — from remission anniversaries to personal achievements — the group reaffirmed their commitment to embracing life fully. They spoke of rediscovering purpose, nurturing their families, and finding joy in everyday moments. Through mutual support, they continue to inspire one another to live with confidence and optimism.

The gathering was not only a celebration of survival but also a reminder that healing is a continuous journey. Together, these women exemplify the power of unity, hope, and resilience — proving that life after breast cancer can be rich, fulfilling, and beautifully ordinary.

Every smile shared and every story told echoed one message: Life goes on — and it’s worth celebrating every single day.

Thank you Adonis for partnering with Mombasa Cancer Centre and supporting our unique family for such a lovely gathering. Every journey is made easy when you have someone to hold your hand. So thank you for your support always.

Supporting Cancer Care with Compassion 🤝💜

Mombasa Cancer Centre was honoured to host members of the Lions Club of Mombasa Pwani, who visited our facility and generously donated funds to support and adopt cancer patients unable to afford treatment.

Their kind gesture reflects the true spirit of community partnership — joining hands to ensure that no patient is denied care due to financial constraints.

At Mombasa Cancer Centre, one of our core missions is welfare funding for underprivileged patients, and such collaborations strengthen our ability to deliver hope, healing, and dignity to those in need.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Lions Club for their continued commitment to humanitarian service and for standing with us in the fight against cancer. 🌸

Did you know emotional stress can trigger a crisis in someone who is battling any sickness or disease especially cancer?

A cancer patients stress generates from arguments or sad news, overthinking, fear, pressure, and even from hoping too hard. Even the constant search for a miracle can be stressful.

They worry about anything and everything; the pain, the financial burden, the social stigma etc.

Sometimes patients try to put up an armour around them by feeling like they always have to be strong. However inside they feel vulnerable and weak.

They can feel like they are the cause of distress or discomfort to others around them.

That kind of emotional stress can make the body weak. How can we reduce the stress for them? Let us look at what we can do to be more supportive:

Never make them feel like a burden to their care givers.

Lets understand that their bodies are fighting from within. Consider their needs when planning activities or routines that may force them to keep going even when they’re tired.

Allow them to rest or take breaks irrespective of normal timings.

Do not doubt or ignore when they say they’re in pain. Caregivers should keep track of their drugs and dosages and assist in monitoring the pain patterns.

Do not make them feel like their sickness is a hindrance to other people's normal lives.

Listen to them and be attentive. Encourage them to say how they feel.

Celebrate their little wins.

Don’t let their whole life be about their disease. Encourage visitors to not make too many inquiries about their illness but instead indulge them in positive conversations.

Encourage them join in some normal activities if they can manage to do so and are willing. This gives them a sense of normalcy.

Be patient. Show them love, not pressure.

Let us resolve to be more empathetic towards our sick family members, neighbours, colleagues and friends.
Because emotional peace is part of their healing. Let us be there for them!
