KNCHR led by Commissioner Dr Dennis Wamalwa (2L) and CEO Dr. Bernard Mogesa, CBS (standing) convened representatives of respective communities from affected counties for a validation exercise of a landmark report on how business operations are impacting the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Kenya. This dialogue was crucial in ensuring that the findings truly reflect lived experiences and concerns from communities in Kajiado, Samburu, Marsabit, West Pokot, Turkana, Laikipia, Nakuru, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Lamu, Isiolo, Tana River, Narok and Nandi Counties.

As the world marks International Minority Rights Day, this report and validation process highlight why listening to the voices of Indigenous and other marginalised communities is key to advancing equality, inclusion and non-discrimination in Kenya.

Feedback from the session will help sharpen the recommendations and ensure the final report becomes a practical tool for accountability, advocacy and policy reform.
