Methods to reduce risks for cardiovascular diseases.
1. Increased physical activities. At least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per week. Reduce sedentary moments
2. Healthy diet: reduce salt intake especially uncooked ones, reduce saturated fats,
3. Reduce or quit excessive alcohol
4. Quit smoking as any smoking increases the risk for CVD
5.Increased water intake at least 3 litres of water.
6. Reduce stress. Get ample sleep at least 6- 8 hours are recommended.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease that results from lack of production of insulin by the pancreas or failure by the cells to utilize the available insulin to break down excessive glucose hence resulting in high blood sugar. The main clinical manifestations include:
Polyuria- increased urination pattern
Polydipsia- excessive thirst
Polyphagia- excessive hunger.
This may result in loss of weight overtime.
Some of risk factors are modifiable such:
Obesity: excessive body weight BMI of >30. Engaging in excercises for at least 30 minutes daily or at least three times weekly will prevent obesity.
Also avoid taking foods high in cholesterol and avoiding taking heavy meals especially bedtime is also beneficial as well as habitual drinking of atleast 2 litres of warm water daily.
2. Excessive intake of starchy foods also increases the risk of acquiring Diabetes type 2. It's recommended to avoid taking a lot of carbohydrates such as rice, potatoes, breads especially white bread and highly processed foods. A diabetic plate is outrightly used to guide on the recommended food which consists of large portion of fruits and vegetables, followed by protein then little amount of carbohydrates.
3. Intake of alcohol also plays a major role in Dm. Major organs are overwhelmed as they try to get lead of excessive glucose such as pancreas and kidney.
Some of complications of DM are: Diabetes Ketoacidosis.
Nephropathy: damage to the kidneys
Neuropathy: loss of neural sensitivity
Retinopathy: impaired vision due to damage to the eyes
Hypertension- high blood pressure
