About Mindful Monday
✨️
🏷The interview opened with a question drawn from the 📖 : What does it really mean to be strong? What followed was less of a debate and more of a reckoning. The book’s message challenged the familiar script of manhood, one that prizes silence, toughness and self-reliance at all costs. As the discussion unfolded, it became clear how deeply those expectations shape men’s mental health.
🛑When our host Mwikali Mary asked why so many men struggle in silence, there was a brief pause, long enough to let the weight of the question settle. The answer wasn’t polished; it was honest. Men are programmed, preconditioned and taught to cope quietly to perform strength even when they are breaking inside.
📣As the discussion unfolded, viewers shared stories of burden of dealing with mental health issues, the shame of being in such situation and the fear of being judged for speaking up. As a panel we acknowledged the cost of that silence, broken relationships, substance abuse and lives lost too soon. Yet our tone wasn’t hopeless.
✔️The discussion ended with a powerful reminder to all men out there: seeking help is not weakness and men deserve spaces where they can speak without shame. This is a call for safe spaces where men can find healing.
...Heal the Man, Heal the World...
💡Awareness is indeed the genesis of healing and for many watching at home, it wasn’t just a TV discussion, it was permission to begin their own conversation, one which will help us have that honest conversation that will change the narrative on this timely discussion.
