Things to consider before you undergo cosmetic surgery
Cosmetic Surgery, apart from beauty or cosmetic enhancement, has many other benefits:
* Improved self-esteem
* Greater self-confidence
* Improved image
* Improved function in some instances e.g. nose reshaping
* Improved opportunities (e.g. Careers)
We understand that deciding to go for surgery is not easy. You want to know that the procedures you are undergoing is safe and at the sometime value for money. For these reasons, we Partner with only the best surgeons in Malaysia and Thailand who have the qualifications and experience to ensure the best possible chance for a successful outcome for you, us and our healthcare providers. Before you decide on going for Cosmetic Surgery, the following must be considered:
A. What is the problem? This means identifying which part or parts of your body that you are unhappy with and why e.g. you have breasts that are smaller than what you would like or you have a deformed nose after an accident. What is it that you want done? You need to have at least some idea of what corrections or enhancement you want performed e.g. breast enhancement for fuller looking breasts or to straighten an obvious hump on your nose. Why do you want the surgery? This means being clear of your objectives and aims in going for Cosmetic Surgery e.g. to look and feel better about yourself, to avoid social embarrassment etc. Most importantly, you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone elses desires or to try to fit any sort of ideal image. Also, many people who resort to surgery as a way to somehow save a relationship or marriage unfortunately often end up disappointed. All the factors above are essential, together with realistic expectations and a following and clear understanding of the risks involved, in order for a successful and satisfying outcome. Once of the above has been consider the aspects:
Am I a good candidate for Cosmetic Surgery? Personal consultation with your surgeon and/or good quality photos will help your surgeon recommend the right procedure(s) for you as well as your fitness for surgery. If you are an International client, this can be done using our medical screening form online where you can also upload pictures of the concerned areas of your body. Cosmetic Surgery is a good option for you if:
* You are physically healthy
* You do not smoke
* You have a positive outlook and specific, but realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance
Get a good surgeon! Once you have decided on a Cosmetic Surgery procedure, the first step you should make is to find a good, fully trained plastic/cosmetic surgeon with years of experience in the procedure you desire. At Ming, we have chosen to partner with only the best surgeons in Malaysia and Thailand with impeccable track records and who operate in the very best private hospitals. All our surgeons are FRCS qualified, have many years of experience and have been trained overseas in top training institutions in countries such as the US, Australia and the UK. Preparations prior to surgery
Pre-operative assessment is essential. It is very important that you declare any medical problems or conditions that you may have or have had in the past and also declare any medications that you are taking including non-prescription ones and herbal supplements. Such information is vital for the surgeon in order to decide whether you are fit to undergo the desired surgery or whether certain medications must be stopped prior to the surgery. If you have a past medical problem or an ongoing condition, you may be asked to produce an up-to-date medical check-up report from your local doctor or treating doctor. We strongly recommend that you discuss the surgery with your surgeon including all the risks and potential complications and that you are sure that you are willing to go through with the operations before you sign up for the surgery. We will facilitate your communication with your surgeon either via email, telephone or personal consult depending on accessibility. Please see the steps for our service. Two important points that we would like to stress here are:
* Stop smoking well before surgery as smoking will compromise blood supply to the skin and will adversely effect healing.
* Avoid exposure to the sun as harmful rays can damage the skin and also compromise healing. Once you have considered all the above, please look at our Cosmetic Surgery options.
