SREYPEOU KAEU was part of a multi media group exhibition at META HOUSE in Phnom Penh entitled SAVING CHAM CULTURE. The Cham people have endured great histic adversity and continue to experience cultural and religious challenges in Cambodia today.

This exhibition aims to not only preserve but ensure the survival of the mostly Muslim Cham minority in Cambodia. Current initiatives involve language instruction to children, celebrating cultural festivals, digital preservation of centuries old manuscripts and artistic records.

SREYPEOU KAEU is currently an artist in residence at UYA (United yoga Asia ) Phnom Penh.
She has made her name proudly as a female Cham artist who uses a figurative style to highlight both the beauty and grim truths of her culture.

UYA WORKS

UYA is proud to welcome SREYPEOU KAEU as its second artist in residence at our studios in Phnom Penh.

She has made her name in joint exhibitions of mostly figurative work in Meta House and Sna Arts in Phnom Penh. For UYA she has produced two works showing its studio environment and the characters she has met through the project.

UYA looks forward to a fruitful and creative experience that will highlight the Cham culture through the eyes of a woman in Cambodia.

ជំហាន ពិតជាមានសេចក្តីរីករាយក្នុងការបន្តគម្រោងនេះជាមួយសិល្បៈករដើម្បីជាការរួមចំណែកពង្រីកស្នាដៃសិល្បៈក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជាអោយកាន់តែទូលំទូលាយ។
