Our 8th Mission has taken place from 20 -22 February in Banteay Meanchey. While cease-fire has been implemented, many of our compatriots cant still return home due to new frontiers imposed by the Thai army. We estimated around 80,000 people are still living in shelters. Some are in this precarious situation since November. Despite the Cambodian authorities are doing as much as they can, it is worrisome to witness this tragedy. All we can do is pray that our neighbor-country will come to their senses and keep our faith that soon this population can return home safely before the monsoon Season.
With our crew of 45 volunteers (from Doctors, nurses, caregivers, pharmacists, translators, logistics etc.) we were able to reach and provide healthcare to 943 displaced persons.
We would like to give a BIG clap to Pharmacie de la Gare and AEMC teams in particular Srey Len (leader), Nary, Sreymoch and Theany for all this logistic and also to our leader pharmacist Borey.
Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Chandarith, Dr. Chany, Dr. Polyn, Dr. Dola, Dr. Sopheara (thanks for the goodies too!), Dr. Pharada (from AMC), Dr. Ponlork, Dr. Sokny, Dr. Seangny, and Dr. Kanha. for their great teamwork and efficient drive with patients.
Our warm thanks also to our dear nurses team : Maria (and Michael from CIA First International - so much goodies for the kids! π), Lori-Anne, Max B., Max S., Maelle, Sidonie, Lya, and Sovann. And let's not forget about our very new translators, Rothsophal (smell so good the soaps and etc.), Palin and our three medicine students Ratanak, Leab and Cheav.
We have not mentioned yet two strong collaborators who are Fred from Avis-RMA and Hamarya, with Yannick and Bunarith, always by our sides to support our logistics.
To our pharmacists team, they worked like bees! Excellent teamwork too. Thanks to Sotheavy, Soveat, Muyleng, Henglong and Sary.
