Never explain yourself to anyone. You don’t need anyone’s approval. Live your life, and do what makes you happy.
Just make sure that you have been true to yourself .
You cannot make everyone happy all the time, and thus, it is more important to bother about your own happiness .

The conversation you have with yourself in the privacy of your own mind has a lot to do with your overall health. ⁠⁠

We spend so much of our life focusing on things and people that ultimately don’t really matter. By clearing what doesn’t serve you, the opportunities are endless.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Here are some tips on how to clear what doesn’t serve you:⁠⁠
⁠⁠
1. Stop surrounding yourself with people who have negative energy . Spend your your time with people that motivate you.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
2. Stop pretending to be okay with things you’re not okay with . Don’t be afraid to speak up if something isn’t working for you .⁠⁠
⁠⁠
3. Don’t let self-sabotage, fear, or negative self-talk get in the wayUse your inner voice to build yourself up instead of tearing yourself down. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
4. Relinquish control over situations you cannot change .You can’t control everything and everyone, and you certainly can’t control other people’s actions. ⁠⁠

5. Let go of your need to have all the answers. Accept the fact that sometimes things may not make sense to you. ⁠⁠

There are certain habits that highly motivated people have in common. Try incorporating⁠⁠
as many of the following habits and traits into your daily like to help you tap into your⁠⁠
motivation.⁠⁠
- Observe the successes and mistakes of others and learn from them instead of judging⁠⁠
or comparing yourself.⁠⁠
- Admit when you made a mistake and apologize. Encourage feedback from others and⁠⁠
use it to take steps in the right direction.⁠⁠
- Focus on what IS working rather than what is not.⁠⁠
- Be true to yourself despite what others think— don't live your life solely to please⁠⁠
others.⁠⁠
- Face discomfort head-on—don’t choose the easy route to get what you want, push⁠⁠
yourself out of your comfort zone.⁠⁠
- Understand that in order to grow as a person, you must always continue to learn.⁠⁠
- When you stumble over that proverbial bump in the road, problem solve, come up with⁠⁠
a plan, take action, and get past it.⁠⁠

Our brains tend to allow negativity to overwhelm positivity, which makes it easy to feel as though nothing’s going right.

Part of being mindful is taking the time to pay notice to all the beautiful and wonderful things in our lives, which can help push out the negativity.

Make it a habit to list off at least five things that you’re grateful for every day. Do it while you’re making coffee, waiting at a stoplight, or brushing your teeth.

So many of us shovel food into our mouths while watching tv, while driving, or while sitting at our office desk.

Set the intention of eating more mindfully by preparing food that you can look forward to, and eating it in an environment that is enjoyable.

Food is social - so try and eat your meals with people. This will also allow you to slow down while you eat since you’ll be chatting.

If you don’t have a dinner companion, make it a point to set your eating utensils down often, chew more than 12 times per bite, and savor your first and last bite.

Our days get busy, and distractions are everywhere. To combat this and stay on track with mindfulness, set reminders in spaces that you frequent regularly throughout the day.

Maybe it’s a magnet on your refrigerator or a photograph on your desk. Perhaps you take a deep breath every time you walk through your front door. Whatever you choose, it will be a conscious trigger that makes you snap back into reality from the thoughts flying around your mind.

As you start to incorporate more mindfulness into your day and tap into your stream of consciousness, you’ll realize that your mind is constantly thinking and moving to make sense of the world around you.

Make it a point to allow your thoughts to come and go, without judging them.

Say you’re walking through a hallway and notice someone wearing a sweater that you think is really unflattering. Your mind might think - “wow, that’s ugly.” Then shift to, “oh no, I shouldn’t think like that, I’m a bad person.”

Instead, have your initial thought - recognize it, then move on. Accept that your thoughts are part of your current narrative, good or bad.

We can be really mean when we talk to ourselves. Think about the negative thoughts you have about your appearance or ability - how would you feel if someone spoke that way to a loved one?

You’d probably be pretty upset!

Next time you catch yourself being mean to yourself, correct the behavior by thinking - or speaking aloud - something positive.

Try these mantras:

“I am beautiful.”

“I am strong.”

“My body is magical.”

“I am doing the best I can.”

“I am good enough.”
