What if dementia isn’t just a medical issue, but a system-wide failure? 🧠

According to Dr. Punambolam, Cayman may be underestimating the real scale of the problem and that by 2050, dementia prevalence could double, unless URGENT action is taken.

He’s calling for a national dementia plan, universal cognitive screening and more equitable access to care, not just for treatment, but for prevention.

Did you know most people will get HPV in their lifetime? For many, the body clears the virus on its own — but in some cases, HPV can lead to cancers of the cervix, throat, a**s, and more.

The good news: prevention is possible thanks to the HPV vaccine. It’s safe, proven, and now complimentary for children and young adults ages 9–25.

Protecting the next generation means preventing cancer before it starts.

We are proud to stand in solidarity with our sister island, Jamaica, as they recover from the recent hurricane.

Today, alongside our private and public sector partners, we've sent our first contribution to medical supplies, and essential medications, to support ongoing relief and recovery efforts on the ground.

We recognise that the road to recovery is neither short nor easy - but together through collaboration with our Cayman and Jamaican healthcare communities, we stand ready to walk it.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible teams for coming together so quickly to make this possible.

Earlier this month, we were proud to sponsor and attend the Cayman Breast Cancer Foundation annual gala, standing together in support of those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. 💗

As we round out , we’re proud to continue championing early detection, treatment, and compassionate care — both within our hospital walls and throughout our community.

🎀 Early is everything - Book your mammogram by calling our care team at (345) 325-9000, and/or learn more about our Oncology services, here: doctorshospital.ky/services/oncology

Early detection can change everything.

Dr. Omar Felix shares three powerful cases that show how breast cancer can present in different ways, from a mammogram-detected lesion to a self-discovered lump and even advanced disease.

His message is clear:
👉 Screening matters.
👉 Self-exams matter.
👉 Awareness matters.

Every woman should have a breast cancer risk assessment by age 25, and routine mammograms starting at 40.

It’s never too early to know your risk, or too late to start. 💗

Book your screening now by calling our care team at 345 325 9000 or learn more about our Oncology services here: https://vist.ly/4cbug

Every second after a stroke begins can change a lifetime — and knowing what to do in those seconds is everything.

At Doctors Hospital, our Neurology team, led by Dr. Ryan Punambolam, is transforming how stroke care is delivered in the Cayman Islands. Through advanced imaging technology and rapid response systems, we ensure patients receive precise diagnosis and treatment the moment they arrive — because timing isn’t just critical, it’s lifesaving.

“Stroke care is about more than reacting quickly,” says Dr. Punambolam. “It’s about being ready — with the right people, the right technology, and the right systems already in place.”

This World Stroke Day, we’re proud to stand with the global movement for stroke awareness and prevention. Recognizing the signs and acting immediately can mean the difference between recovery and lasting impact.

Our Story

Doctors Hospital is a private, for-profit hospital in the Cayman Islands dedicated to providing exceptional health care to the Cayman Islands. Our modern facilities are centrally located in the capital of Grand Cayman, just minutes from the Owen Roberts International Airport. Our central location is less than a 2 hour flight from Miami and only a 45 minute flight from Jamaica. Doctors Hospital is an eighteen bed, medical/surgical hospital specialising in surgical care. The residents and visitors of the Cayman Islands enjoy access to a full range of health care services provided by our internationally recognized, locally residing physicians and visiting specialists. Our 24 hour urgent care and consistent investment in state-of-the-art technology exemplifies our commitment to improving the quality of life of the people of the Cayman Islands. Doctors Hospital originally opened in May 2000, with a vision to provide exceptional health care to our clients and patients. Our on-going commitment to this vision can be seen through our continued investment in some of the most advanced medical equipment available, as well as through our highly qualified staff. Doctors Hospital is very proud of our organization’s reputation as a provider of exceptional patient experiences and advanced medical care, which includes the only private maternity suites in the Cayman Islands.
