1. Heat up the oil
If you don't have a deep fryer, use a regular heavy bottomed pot. Pour refined vegetable oil into it and heat it to 180 ° C.

2. Prepare the potatoes
Use large potato tubers: this way you get the most symmetrical oblong slices. Wash potatoes, peel and cut into strips. Divide the potatoes into equal pieces so that they cook evenly. The thickness of the bar should be about 1 cm. Rinse the chopped potatoes under cold water or soak for a while so that excess starch comes out of it. Lay the cut slices out on paper towels to dry.
3. Fry the sliced potatoes
Place the potatoes in the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes. Fry the potatoes in small portions, otherwise the sticks will not swell, but will absorb a lot of oil, will be heavy and not tasty. Remove the cooked french fries with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Salt to taste.
