Marking World Health Day 2026, David Pieris Group (DPG) proudly introduced its ‘Herbal Tuesday’ initiative—reinforcing our commitment to employee wellbeing and healthier lifestyle choices.
Launched at our Battaramulla Head Office on April 7, the initiative replaces regular milk tea with traditional herbal beverages. Employees enjoyed refreshing Belimal in the morning and a warm coriander drink during evening tea—both known for their natural health benefits.
‘Herbal Tuesday’ is a simple yet impactful step towards promoting mindful consumption within the workplace.
Currently piloted at our Head Office, the initiative will be expanded across DPG locations islandwide based on employee feedback and its overall success.
At DPG, we remain committed to building a healthier workforce while celebrating Sri Lanka’s rich heritage of natural and herbal traditions.

DPG Athletes Shine on the International Stage

Four members of the David Pieris Group proudly represented Sri Lanka at the 30th Thailand Masters Athletics Championships, where the Sri Lankan team secured 56 medals and achieved 1st Place in the International Team Total Score. DPG athletes made a remarkable contribution, winning 11 medals (7 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze).

We also proudly recognize Waruna Udawatta, who served as Vice President and Captain of the Sri Lankan team.

This achievement reflects the dedication, talent, and sporting spirit of DPG employees.

Empowering new beginnings at David Pieris Group

David Pieris Group recently concluded yet another successful Group Induction Programme, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing talent and integrating new recruits into its dynamic and diverse corporate environment.

The programme was thoughtfully designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Group’s legacy, values and wide-ranging business operations. Through engaging sessions, the new team members were introduced to the organizational structure, key business sectors and the strategic vision that continues to drive the Group forward.

A key highlight of the induction was the series of site visits organised to offer firsthand exposure to operations. The recruits visited FCI, FCII, Pearl Bay and the Ranna Manufacturing Complex, where they experienced the Group’s operational excellence in action.

Beyond knowledge-sharing, the programme also served as a platform for building connections, fostering teamwork and instilling a strong sense of belonging among the new recruits. By engaging directly with different business units and environments, participants were better equipped to understand their roles within the broader organisational framework.

The David Pieris Group celebrated International Women’s Day with a vibrant “Rise & Shine” event on 7th March at Pearl Bay, bringing together women from across the organisation for an energising and inspiring morning.

Organised by the Group Human Resource Management Division, the programme featured an uplifting opening session, mindful relaxation, and engaging activities designed to empower and celebrate the remarkable women who drive the Group’s success.

The event created a refreshing space to connect, recharge, and recognize the leadership, dedication, and impact of women across the Group.
