New Post Intern Appointments
Appointment letters for 62 Dental Surgeons were handed over today (29th) at the Main Auditorium of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.
The occasion was graced by the Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa.
Several senior officials from the Ministry were present, including the Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardhana, and Deputy Director General (Dental Services), Dr. Chandana Gajanayake.
Representing the Government Dental Surgeons’ Association (GDSA), the President, Secretary, and Executive Committee members were also present at the event.
Most importantly, these appointments have been backdated to the post-intern starting date of 01st June 2024.
Despite attempts by certain parties to obstruct the backdating process, the GDSA strongly opposed such actions and remained steadfast in protecting members’ rights.
As a result of these continuous efforts, the backdating process was successfully finalized.
