Successful recovery of patient piyawathi (Female) 66 years who suffered from a skin rash on the whole body excluding scalp and face for over a period of 25 years. A complete and lengthy process of medical care was given to the patient. All the dead tissues were removed and ointments made by Dr. Bandaranayaka were applied. The patient was prescribed with reluctant medicine and a thorough diet plan was issued and explained. We are happy that Piyawathi was fully recovered after 10 days of initial treatment. The skin rash was entirely cured and the skin has become skin soft and normal.
Clinical history

History of skin rash on the whole body excluding scalp and face over a period of 25 years. Scratching of skin, multiple blisters, pain, and discharge in wounds were the major complaints. She has taken native Ayurveda treatment and western medicine for this disease but the results were unsatisfactory and the disease was not cured.

Clinical Findings

1. Dry Skin
2. Hypercritic areas
3. Thickened skin in both knees and elbow regions
4. Multiple blisters and thick skin on buttocks, palms, and legs.

Fungal infection of nails (Tinea Unguinum)

Management

• Complete physical and laboratory assessment
• The patient was educated regarding the disease
• Diet Plan was issued as per the patient’s condition
• Instruction of the usage of drugs

Patient recovery

Piyawathi was fully recovered after 10 days of initial treatment. The skin rash was entirely cured and the skin has become skin soft.
