Making tiny things out of clay is so much fun!
You can even use natural bookshop clay (left is from Atlas and the right one in the picture is some available red clay) and finish it off with some craft glue. Usually Ninalu ceramics are made from stoneware clay and that's the one used at workshops too.

But if you like to do something at home, don't worry about materials too much, you can work with clay with very little resources. Just get your hands dirty and get creative!

Some tips in case your pottery won't be fired but you like to make it more durable:
Let your pottery piece fully dry (2 to 14 days depending on humidity and temperature)

Mix 80% glue (like Chemifix or Superglue) with 20% water to create a creamy consistency, and then brush it onto your fully dried clay piece. Don't touch where it's still wet. First one side/inside, then the other/outside. Best if to do 2-3 layers with drying in between. When finished it should not be in touch with water and can't be used for food. For that the clay needs to be fired and professionally glazed and fired again.

The glue method is great for decorative items like sculptures.
And if you prefer to work in a group, come for a Ninalu clay workshop around Galle!
