🌈 Teamwork in Action 🌈

Today the children worked together to bounce a ball on the parachute. They had to cooperate, move at the same time, and communicate with each other to keep the ball from falling. It was wonderful to see their teamwork and group effort — they did so well supporting one another!

Children confidently rode balance bikes and tricycles, using their bodies to balance, steer, and move with control. Through riding, they demonstrated growing strength, coordination, and confidence, showing strong development of gross motor skills. # # # #

Today, our little learner used tweezers to carefully pick up small dinosaur figures and place them into the matching colour buckets. This playful activity supports fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, colour recognition, and concentration — all while having fun through play! 💛✨

🐞 Exploring Insects & Their Life Cycle 🦋

Today, the children enjoyed a hands-on, play-based activity where they learned and explored about insects and their life cycle. Through sensory play, observation, and discussion, they discovered how insects grow and change while building curiosity and confidence in learning.

🖐️ Playdough & Fossil Fun!

Yesterday, children had the opportunity to make their own playdough and choose the colours they wanted. They used their hands and fingers to squeeze, roll, and shape the playdough, which is wonderful for developing fine motor skills.

The children then explored creating insect fossil art by pressing toy insects into the playdough and observing the shapes they made. We began by acknowledging how well they used their fingers and hands while squeezing and moulding the playdough.

This hands-on experience encouraged creativity, choice-making, and sensory exploration.

🇱🇰 Celebrating Independence Day 🇱🇰

Our children joyfully celebrated Independence Day by taking part in meaningful and fun activities that helped them learn about culture, identity, and belonging.

One of the highlights was painting the Sri Lankan flag, where the children explored colours, symbols, and proudly expressed their creativity.

EYLF Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, as children learn to respect diversity, culture, and national identity in an age-appropriate and engaging way.

🐞 Insect Finding 🐛

The children gathered outdoors around a tub filled with dirt and began searching for insects they could find. Using tweezers, they carefully picked up and observed their discoveries, showing great focus, curiosity and care.

This experience supported the development of fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination and concentration, while also encouraging respect for living things and an interest in the natural environment.

Outcome 4 — Children are confident and involved learners
Children used tools purposefully, explored their environment, and engaged in hands-on investigation.

🌟 Exploring, Creating & Discovering! 🌟

A lovely group of children gathered around the light table and began building with magnetic blocks. It was amazing to see their curiosity in action. ✨🔵🔶

Outcome 4 — Children are confident and involved learners. They explored ideas, tried things out, made predictions and solved problems as they investigated how the magnetic blocks worked together.
