The body discussed the project’s implementation status, and implementing organizations also assessed new research plots at the CARI compound in Suakoko, B**g County.

Yesterday, October 25, 2022, the EU-funded DeSIRA-IRFFS project commenced a three-day training of value chain actors on "Cooperative Formation and Operation of Innovation Platform in the Integrated Rice-Fish Farming System in Liberia" in Kakata, Margibi county. The event follows a survey that covered stakeholder analysis, gap analysis, and need assessment of value chain actors.

Yesterday, September 6, 2022, participants visited a beneficiary farm of the EU-funded EU DeSIRA Integrated Rice-Fish Farming System project in Margibi. They exchanged thoughts with the farmers concerning IRFFS production and management practices. Also, participants ended the training with a brainstorming session on the production and dissemination of fingerlings and foodfish of tilapia in rice field plots in their respective working counties.

From June 28 to July 1, 2022, DeSIRA-IRFFS Project Coordinator, Dr. Inoussa Akintayo honored the invite to a four–day TVET Curriculum Development Training workshop for the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports technical staff. Dr. Akintayo presented on the Integrated Rice -Fish and Vegetable farming technology system - with particular reference to Small Scale Commercial Farmers
The event also afforded the opportunity to develop a Job Profile Standard for a Small Scale Commercial Farmer of mixed crops, animals, fish, and honey.

Booker Washington Institute ( ) students recently transplanted improved rice into new -ponds. The exercise allowed the students to apply knowledge of the (IRFFS) they have so far obtained. The project, since its launch, has been working with the school's agriculture department to equip the students with new skills along the rice-fish value chain.

EU-funded DeSIRA-IRFFS Project's Innovation Specialist, Prof. Paul I.Bolorunduro (wearing a blue shirt), recently completed a gap analysis and needs assessment of extension officers, as well as stakeholders' analysis and mapping. His activities covered the project's five implementing counties ( Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Gbarpolu, Margibi, and Maryland). "This will provide needed information for the establishment of the multi-stakeholders' innovation platform for the project and ensure sustainability," he says.
