Some girls are told their story ended the day they became mothers.
In many of our rural communities, when a girl gets pregnant early, people stop seeing her future. She is pushed out of school, judged in silence, and left to carry adulthood alone before she even understands it. But at Help a Mother and Newborn Initiative, we have seen something different: these same girls are leaders waiting for a chance.
From March 28 to April 5, 2026, the Adolescent Girls Summit will take place in Côte d’Ivoire under the theme “Count Us In.” It is a global space where young voices shape conversations about gender, education, dignity, and opportunity. With support from the Global Fund for Children, five of our adolescent mothers will attend. But we know there are more girls whose voices deserve to be heard.
We are now raising funds to take additional rural adolescent mothers to this summit; girls who were once hidden by stigma, but who now have the courage to speak, learn, and represent Liberia on a global stage.
This is not just a trip.
It is a message to every girl who thinks her life stopped too early: you still belong in the world, and your voice matters.
If you would like to help send one of these girls to AGS 2026, you can support through https://fundraizer.com/campaigns/697c8d50a8660d77dd5238c7.
Every contribution moves a girl from the margins to the microphone.
Let’s not allow their stories to end in silence.
Let’s help them stand, speak, and lead.
