Happy New Year, family.

As we enter 2026, my heart is full. I want to express sincere love and appreciation to everyone who was part of HMNI’s work in 2025 — in big ways and in quiet ways. To the adolescents and young people we serve: thank you for trusting us. To the young mothers who chose hope and kept showing up: you inspire us. To parents and families, community leaders, health facilities, CHVs, mentors, volunteers, partners, and donors — thank you for standing with us, strengthening our work, and believing in what is possible.

2025 has been our best year yet. We set goals — and somehow, we achieved even more than we planned or could imagine. We grew. We learned. We improved our systems. We deepened our partnerships. Most importantly, we witnessed lives touched and voices rising. Our impact was loud, and we do not take it for granted.

As we look ahead, I feel hopeful and confident. 2026 will be even greater — not just because we want “more,” but because we are entering the year with stronger clarity, stronger teamwork, and stronger commitment to accountability, safeguarding, and community-led change. We will keep building safe spaces, expanding opportunity, and walking alongside adolescents and young people as they shape their futures.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, your trust, and your belief in a youth-led organization determined to create lasting change.

With gratitude and hope,
Lela Precious Dolo
Executive Director, HMNI

This Christmas, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have stood with us in hope and compassion throughout the year.

As we celebrate the season of love and giving, we are reminded that every mother deserves safe care and every newborn deserves a healthy start to life. Your generosity and support have helped bring warmth, dignity, and life-saving care to families when they need it most.

May this Christmas fill your homes with peace and joy, and may the coming year inspire us all to continue building a world where no mother or newborn is left behind.

Some achievements are bigger than a certificate. They are proof that giving up was never an option.

Today, we proudly celebrate Folley Sombai, our MEL Officer, who graduated as Valedictorian, Class of 2025 of Institute. He carried responsibilities, faced real hardships, and still remained focused, disciplined, and committed to his purpose.

Congratulations, Folley. Your journey is inspiring—and your future is bright.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us — our partners, donors, the Margibi County Health Team, partner health facilities, community leaders, community health volunteers, and our incredible Cohort 1 participants.

Cohort 1 showed us what is possible.
Cohort 2 will demonstrate what is scalable and adaptable, building on the powerful lessons learned along the way.

Together, we are shaping a Liberia where no girl dies while giving life, where every adolescent has a future worth fighting for, and where adolescent mothers are prioritized, empowered, and fully supported.

Today is the day! 🌸💛
We celebrate 70+ courageous young mothers graduating from the EmpowerHer Journey Pilot – Cohort 1—stronger, more confident, and more prepared to lead their families and communities.

And today, we take the next bold step.

We are officially launching Cohort 2, thanks to a US$12,000 start-up investment from the Robbeer Foundation through the +1 Global Fund. This phase will reach 120 adolescent mothers across 30+ communities over the next 24 months.

Building on the powerful lessons from Cohort 1, Cohort 2 will strengthen:
• Retention of young mothers
• Family and caregiver engagement
• Community ownership through CHVs, HFDCs, and local leaders

With a total program budget of US$49,760, we are calling for collective effort to raise the remaining US$37,760 to achieve the following by December 2027:

✔ 100% safe deliveries for all participants
✔ 75+ young mothers launching income-generating businesses
✔ 25+ girls re-enrolled in school
✔ 200+ community leaders actively engaged
✔ Delivery of maternal education, hygiene kits, business training, peer-savings groups, psychosocial support, and more

At just US$415 per mother for two years—or US$17.29 per month, less than US$1 per day—this remains one of Liberia’s most cost-effective, high-impact investments in maternal health and adolescent empowerment.
It is a pathway to transformational change and a scalable model aligned with SDGs 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10.

This investment is more than a number.
It is a lifeline for young mothers who deserve safety, dignity, and opportunity.

Today, we close one chapter—and courageously open another.

Just 1 day to go! 🎓

Tomorrow, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of the young mothers who have completed the EmpowerHer Journey Pilot – Cohort 1.

Their dedication has paved the way for a future filled with possibility — and we’re thrilled to launch the next cohort that will uplift even more lives.

Stand with us. Share the message. Let adolescent mothers everywhere know that they matter, they belong, and they deserve every opportunity to thrive.

Liberia’s maternal health crisis is deepening — and adolescent mothers continue to bear the greatest burden. The latest data makes one thing clear: our work is far from finished.

That’s why we are proud to launch Cohort 2 of the Empower Her Journey program, building on the successes and lessons of our first cohort.

This new cohort will:
✔ Reach 120 additional adolescent mothers
✔ Deliver comprehensive maternal health education
✔ Support school re-entry for young mothers
✔ Provide vocational and business training
✔ Strengthen families and communities through Community Health Volunteers
✔ Help prevent future unintended pregnancies

Because when you save a mother, you strengthen an entire community.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

For 24 months, the young women of our EmpowerHer Journey Pilot Cohort 1 walked a path many doubted they could survive: adolescent pregnancy, shame, health risks, and a lack of support.

But today, these young mothers stand transformed.
They now:
✔ Attend hospital check-ups consistently
✔ Speak boldly and knowledgeably about their health
✔ Plan for their futures with clarity
✔ Build and grow small businesses
✔ Support one another like sisters

Their journey proves one truth:
When we invest in adolescent mothers, their story changes and their children’s futures change with them.

On Dec 12, we celebrate their resilience.
And we launch Cohort 2 stronger, more intentional, and more inclusive, welcoming 120 new mothers into the EmpowerHer Journey.
