‎Update on the Madam Suakoko Scholarship.

‎Through the tireless advocacy and efforts of the B**g University Students Union (BUSU), the Madam Suakoko Scholarship Program has been fast-tracked. Today, September 27, 2025, the aptitude test was successfully administered for all eligible sons and daughters of B**g County who applied for the scholarship on time .

‎The advocacy continues, and BUSU is making headlines! The Union extends heartfelt appreciation to the B**g County Caucus, the Superintendent of B**g County, and the County Council for their role in fast-tracking the Madam Suakoko Scholarship Program, in accordance with BUSU’s tireless advocacy and efforts.

‎During the observation of the test today, BUSU noticed that over 900 young people turned out, showing their deep readiness and commitment to education. We therefore urge the County Leadership to focus more on the student community and the youth, as we are the leaders of tomorrow and the future of B**g County rests in us.
‎We reminds everyone that together, we can achieve more than the Madam Suakoko Scholarship. With unity and persistence, students can access broader opportunities at the local, national, and international levels.

PRESS STATEMENT

For Immediate Release

August 19,2025

B**g University Students Union Secures Seat on the Madam Suakoko Scholarship Committee.

After several months of persistent advocacy and constructive engagement, the B**g University Students Union (BUSU) is pleased to announce that the leadership of B**g County has officially extended an invitation to BUSU to serve as a member of the prestigious Madam Suakoko Scholarship Committee.

In a formal communication addressed to BUSU, the County Leadership, through the Office of the Superintendent, Hon. Loleiyah Hawa Norris, expressed compliments and formally requested the Union to designate a representative who will actively participate as a member of the Committee. This decision comes as a direct outcome of collective calls from the student community for inclusion and representation in decision-making processes that directly affect their educational opportunities.

The Madam Suakoko Scholarship Committee, which was recently re-established through a resolution during the just-ended County Council Sitting, is designed to empower the citizens of B**g County by providing educational support. The program is not only a direct investment in human capacity but also a vehicle for ensuring that young people are better prepared, marketable, and competitive in the job market.

The inclusion of BUSU on this committee is of significant importance. It reflects a new era of collaboration between students and county authorities and guarantees that students’ voices will be heard in the vetting and awarding of scholarships. For years, there have been concerns about transparency and fairness in scholarship distribution. By including BUSU, the process now gains added credibility and legitimacy, ensuring that qualified students are considered on merit.

Furthermore, this representation underscores the value of student leadership and advocacy. It demonstrates that persistence, dialogue, and constructive engagement with authorities can yield meaningful results. The presence of BUSU on the Committee is not just symbolic; it provides assurance that student interests will be safeguarded, and the criteria for awarding scholarships will be transparent and inclusive.

BUSU acknowledges the importance of this milestone and commits to fulfilling its responsibility with integrity, accountability, and a student-centered focus. We extend our appreciation to the County Leadership for responding positively to the calls of the student community. We also recognize that this is a collective victory for all students of B**g County, as education remains the cornerstone of progress and sustainable development.

As we take our seat on the Madam Suakoko Scholarship Committee, BUSU pledges to ensure that this opportunity is used to advance equitable access to education, promote fairness in scholarship distribution, and uphold the legacy of Madam Suakoko, whose name symbolizes courage, empowerment, and service to humanity.

‎Comrades, sons and daughters of B**g County, greetings in the spirit of struggle and hope!

‎The B**g University Students Union (BUSU) is never silent! We are alive, we are active, and we are deeply engaged in the struggles and engagements that define our journey as students. The voices of B**g County students will never be buried, for we remain the conscience of the student community.

‎Let it be clear: we may face challenges, we may encounter obstacles, but these cannot silence our courage. This process of education is the only unbearable burden we must all stand under together. It is not meant to destroy us,it is meant to sharpen us. Every difficulty, every sleepless night of study, every sacrifice is a seed of victory for tomorrow.

‎Comrades, do not doubt the process! Never surrender your dreams to fear, never allow discouragement to rob you of your purpose. From B**g County to every corner of Liberia, the name of BUSU stands for resilience, for progress, and for the collective power of students who believe in a brighter tomorrow.

‎Forward we march, shoulder to shoulder, with courage in our hearts and determination in our minds. We say again: BUSU is not silent, BUSU is engaged, and BUSU will always remain the shield and voice of the students of B**g County.

‎Forward Ever, Backward Never!
‎Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win!

‎August 16,2025.

‎Comrades, the B**g University Students Union (BUSU) salutes all B**g County students at LICOSESS College for standing firm with our brother and comrade, Emmanuel N. Goncolo, and the All Students Unification Party (AL-SUP). Your action is a living testimony that when the call of solidarity is made, true comrades respond without fear.

‎By voting Emmanuel after BUSU’s official endorsement of AL-SUP, you did not just cast ballots—you raised the flag of unity, loyalty, and collective struggle. This is the spirit that has always defined the students of B**g County, and today you have proven it once again.

‎We remind you, comrades, that our struggle is bigger than one campus and bigger than one election. What happened at LICOSESS is a clear message that B**g County students are not divided. When we say “one voice, one struggle,” it is not a slogan,it is action, and you have shown that in practice.

‎BUSU has always said we will stand by our own. Comrade Emmanuel N. Goncolo is one of us , and he's the co-chair of scholarship committee of BUSU.your support shows that the fire of comradeship is still burning strong. This fire must continue to guide us as we move forward in the student struggle across Liberia.

‎Congratulations VP elect ,Comrade Emmanuel for earning the confidence of the masses. Congratulations also to AL-SUP for opening its doors to our comrade and for standing on the side of student justice. This unity is not by chance—it is the fruit of struggle, sacrifice, and clarity of purpose.

‎Comrades, let us understand that victory is not the end. Victory is the beginning of responsibility. We must continue to hold leadership accountable, defend student rights, and protect the interest of every struggling student. That is the revolutionary task before us.

‎What happened at LICOSESS must inspire all B**g County students everywhere. It must teach us that when we come together as one force, no campus, no union, and no authority can silence us. Our strength is not in division, but in the unshakable unity of comradeship.

‎We therefore call on all students to keep the fire of solidarity burning. Let this victory be a stepping stone toward greater battles, greater victories, and greater unity. The student movement in Liberia will only advance when we place the collective above the individual.

‎Comrades, history is on our side. The struggle continues. The victory is certain.
