Zinc is also essential for cellular processes DNA synthesis and cell division and the immune system. It is also important for skin healing, strong nails and hairs.

Magnesium supports protein synthesis, so low magnesium levels might impact your muscle growth. It relaxes the muscles, which is beneficial for sleep and it strengthens our bones. The nervous system would break down without magnesium. Combining Zinc and Magnesium is often referred to as ZMA Stack. Magnesium-taurate crosses blood brain barrier.

Magnesium is an element of great importance functioning because of its association with many cellular physiological functions.

An animal study revealed that rapidly absorbed Magnesium-taurate leads to high brain magnesium levels and was associated with decreased anxiety indicators. It also had one of the best bioavailabilities demonstrating the potential of this rather unknown form magnesium. 

The trial was done using a dosage equal to 400 mg/70 kg in humans.

Bioavailability is a major issue with most magnesium supplements. 😲 Imagine taking 300mg of magnesium each day but you notice no improvements when it comes to your blood markers, recovery or performance.

Most magnesium that is sold today is magnesium-oxid which has a low bioavailability, meaning only about 5-10% of the magnesium is actually absorbed by your body. The rest goes down the toilet. 🚽

Good supplements use magnesium-byglicinate or magnesium-taurate. These are so-called organic magnesium forms which your body can easily absorb. Both come with additional benefits as they deliver useful amino acids like glycine and taurate which support cardio-vascular health and sleep. 💪

Vitamin B12 is essential for energy metabolism, DNA synthesis, and supporting healthy nerve function / myelin.

In a study of 231 healthy older adults (median age ~71), researchers tested: brain signal speed (visual evoked potentials), processing speed, and MRI brain scans.

What they found (even within the “normal” B12 range):
✅ Lower “active” B12 (holotranscobalamin — the usable form) was linked to
• slower brain signal conduction
• slower processing speed (especially with higher age)
• reduced white matter integrity

⚠️ Higher “inactive” B12 (bound to haptocorrin) correlated with higher Tau, a blood biomarker linked to neurodegeneration.

Takeaway: The results are questioning the current intake recommendations where biologically inactive B12 correlated with a biomarker of neurodegeneration.

🤝 Magnesium and Vitamin D are working together. Magnesium helps the body to activate Vitamin D and Vitamin D helps to absorb Magnesium within our intestines where most of our nutrients are absorbed.

🪫 Having low Vitamin D3 levels contributes to magnesium deficiency which thus leads to muscle and nervous system impacts. A vicious cycle that leads to many health issues.

Your brain isn’t only “aging” — it’s also influenced by your diet across your lifespan. 🧠

A large UK study followed 3,059 people born in 1946 and tracked diet quality from childhood (age 4) into adulthood (up to 60–64), plus cognitive testing from age 8 all the way to 68–69.

They found a clear pattern: people who stuck with a higher-quality diet over the long run tended to stay on higher cognitive-performance trajectories later in life.

To characterize long-term change, the team applied group-based trajectory modeling, a method that clusters individuals into subgroups with similar developmental patterns over time.

Even more striking: at 68–69, signs of “likely dementia” were:

- 9.8% in the lower diet-quality group
- 6.0% in the moderate group
- 2.4% in the higher diet-quality group

So what’s the practical takeaway?

✅ The “solution” isn’t a magic food - it’s consistency.
Higher performers tended to eat more vegetables (especially greens + beans), more whole fruits + whole grains, and less sodium/refined grains.

This is a ground-breaking observational research. It supports a simple idea: brain health is built early and reinforced daily by proper nutrition.

Beyond Nutrition - The founders´story

I became enthusiastic about sports at an early age and have always been interested in nutrition. After completing my trainer license, I worked for several years as a salesman in a sports nutrition store and as a fitness trainer. My initial enthusiasm quickly turned into a real passion.

In 2017 I decided to bring my many years of experience to a market dominated by products with inferior raw materials and no intelligent composition. My guide was quickly found, "beyond traditional supplements" because I wanted to go further than many other brands, hence the choice of name. The heart of Beyond Nutrition was from the very beginning the development of premium products, following the example of nature in order to use synergies between purely natural ingredients and thus unfold unique effects.

Every Beyond Nutrition product has a clear goal and optimally supports the human organism in its natural function. Through top quality and a high performance ratio, the brand clearly sets itself apart from the classic products of the industry.
