New ways in patient information by use of artificial intelligence
The idea of restructuring surgical and obstetrical anesthesia consultation is to provide patients with essential information before their conversation with the anesthesiologist and to eliminate language barriers.
The core of the concept consists of two videos. One video features a consultation with the anesthesiologist in preparation for surgery, while another involves a discussion about childbirth. Both videos are available with and without subtitles in 12 languages on the YouTube channel:

Language options include:
German
English
French
Spanish
Portuguese
Italian
Serbian
Turkish
Arabic
Chinese
Ukrainian
Russian.
These videos, produced with the assistance of automatic translations from ChatGPT and automatic voice synchronization from Heygen, are copyrighted but provided for free use.
All 48 videos have been reviewed by native speakers and generally assessed understandable. However, responsibility for content cannot be guaranteed, as there may be deviations in text or language from the intended information.
For each video in all 12 languages, there is a corresponding patient information document linked within the video context. This document helps patients plan and prepare for their appointments and includes a QR code for accessing the relevant surgery or childbirth video without subtitles. Subtitles can be activated by clicking on the info card at the start of the video if needed.
To facilitate the use of the concept for doctors, there's an overview of all QR codes, categorized by surgery and childbirth, making it easy to select and scan. This overview can be a helpful resource, particularly in unplanned patient contacts. The links to these documents are also noted under each video.

The support of patient education through AI-based information technology will continue to enhance our ability to prepare patients for hospital stays, ultimately ensuring more safety and patient satisfaction. It remains crucial that standardized tools complement, but not replace, the personal conversation with the doctor in patient care.
