Tips for when you have an infection

1) Rest
Fighting against an infection uses a lot of energy. If you want to be back on your feet again too quickly, this can often make things worse. You should very carefully listen to your body’s signals: if your body feels a little better every day, that is a good sign that you’re on your path to recovery. You can use this rest time for activities that you usually get to do in your everyday life: watch films, sleep in, nap, read, have someone cook for you, journal, warms baths, meditating.

2) Massages and dry brushing

During an infection it makes sense to support the lymph flow, as it is responsible for our immunity and can better eliminate toxins this way.
Massages can do a lot of good in this regard, especially lymph drainage and dry brushing (there already exists a detailed post on this topic). Massages and body contact in general are good for the body, and also the soul and your well-being.

3) Stock up on nutrients
Especially during an infection, it is important to recharge your body’s batteries with good nutrients. During an infection, your body uses important trace elements such as vitamins and minerals, and you can stock up on these by eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, but also through a targeted complement treatment.

During winter time, many of us are dealing with infections. On a bodily level, we experience these infections through many symptoms: some come down with a cold or a cough, others develop a fever or their limbs are hurting.
From an energetic perspective, every infection points to a conflict that – on the level of our consciousness, has not been lived out or sorted out. Often we don’t notice these conflicts straight away, maybe we don’t want to admit them to ourselves or we try to avoid them.
But then, life forces us to engage with these conflicts through bodily symptoms.
Conflict energy (viruses, bacteria, toxins) always gather in the area of the body that corresponds to the mental and spiritual area of conflict, and here the body speaks a clear language.
An infection usually points to a specific topic, whereas chronic infections can be a sign of continued conflict.
A few examples and the body’s request:
Runny nose: In what area of my life am I fed up and I’ve had enough?
Fever: Where have I not been acting in alignment with my emotions?
Cough: What have I been suppressing for too long?
With a bit of distance and some calm, everyone can find the one or other thing that they have not been paying attention to prior to the infection. It is important to take clear decisions and to consequently follow through on them.

Fried local mushrooms

For this recipe, you’ll need 200-400 grams of porcini mushrooms, 1 onion, 2 garlic cloves, 2 tbsp of butter or vegan coconut oil, 2 thyme sprigs, salt and pepper

It’s best to not wash porcini mushrooms as they can otherwise soak up water and lose their taste that way. As an alternative, you can clean them with a small brush or carefully remove any dirt with a knife. Now slice the mushrooms and finely dice the onion. Peel the garlic cloves and put them through a garlic press. Remove the thyme leaves from the sprigs.
Heat the butter or coconut oil in a pan and glaze the onions. Add the mushrooms and put on high heat. Now add the garlic and season with salt and pepper.

Dës Champignone soll een am beschten net mat Waasser wäschen, well se sech gär mam Waasser vollsaugen an hiren Aroma verléieren. Als Alternativ kann een och mat enger klenger Kichebiischt botzen oder ganz virsiichteg d’Äerd an de Knascht ofschappen.
Schneit elo d’Champignonen a Scheiwen. Schiel d’Zwiwwelen a kleng Wierfelen. De Knuewelek schielen an duerch d’Knuewelekspress drécken. Thymianblieder vun de Stiller zupfen. De Botter oder d’Kokosfett an enger Pan erhëtzen, d’Zwiwwele glaseg undënsten.

Autumn season is mushroom season. The porcino mushroom is a particularly popular type and grows in coniferous as well as deciduous forests. The porcino mushroom’s hat can be a light brown, reddish colour. You can find it in the forests from July to November, and it has a savoury, aromatic taste. The porcino mushroom is rich in amino acids that the body needs as a building block for proteins. It also has lots of vitamins B1, B2, and B5, as well as potassium, phosphor and vitamin D. These are important to help with fatigue as well as tingles in the fingers and feet. In the next post, I will share a simple recipe for this local mushroom.
