The HTSpore Foundation helps people find treatment. We are boots on the ground working daily to help those suffting find an end to theiir pain. This is accomplished through our outsideIN program.

We also disttribute Narcan and we have built many wonderful partners. Two weekends ago I gave out over 240 units of Narcan to my friend, colleague, and fellow person in recovery, Stephanie Smith. Stephanie has one of the most amazing stories of perseverance and mental fortitude I have ever heard.

While visiting her family over the weekend, Stephanie, who lost her son to an overdose, listened to the horrible sounds from a nearby apartment of a mother screaming that her daughter was not breathing and feared dead. Stephanie ran to the apartment and administered Narcan to this young lady, a daughter, and a mother herself. She had to use two whole boxes of Narcan nasal inhalers to bring the lady back from dying until paramedics could arrive.

I was talking with a nurse at The Recovery Village today about how when you save a life, it is done one at a time. The inspiration I get daily from the work I see others do saves my life over and over. That is why I started the HTSpore Foundation. We are saving lives one at a time you just never know when it will be you that is called upon to do the saving. Thank you to the Stephanies of the world for being those beacons of hope that never stop showing their faith in humanity.

We want to welcome everyone to the HTSpore Foundation page. We dedicate this page to helping people in need recover from mental health and substance use disorders. We operate with the idea that everyone should have a chance to recovery regardless of their past or present circumstances or the number of times they have overdosed.

The high number of overdose deaths is why we have a Narcan Distribution and Education Program that we bring to all communities and demonstrate and discuss the usage of this wonder drug that reverses the effects of opioids if administered early enough into someone's overdose. Since we started the program, it has helped reverse over 100 overdoses in its first nine months of operation.

Navigation through community care is both difficult and confusing. Our Outside IN program is here to make the journey navigable and filled with success. In our first year, we have helped over 15 people start their journey by assisting them to get into detox and treatment or work with people in need to find housing, jobs/career services, and community. We see the family unit as an essential piece to someone being successful in recovery, and we reconnected all of our estranged clients with loved ones again so they can all begin the healing.

The HTSpore Foundation is starting a campaign called, Communities That Give Together Live Together, 4,000 Years of Recovery. For $250.00, someone in need can get a year of recovery supported by the HTSpore Foundation through the Outside IN program.
