At The Running Lab we go beyond the surface.

Our 3D walk and run analysis gives you data-driven insights into your movement.

When indicated from your initial analysis, our physiotherapists work closely with the podiatry team at the Mediatrix Podiatry Centre, to create a fully integrated, in-house management plan—tailored to you, based on real data.

This may include custom-made insoles, alongside specialised podiatric input for foot-related conditions when required.

One marathon later… your running form changes due to fatigue🏃‍♂️

Fatigue affects stride, cadence, and muscle control—it’s normal, but it can lead to inefficiencies if not addressed.

That’s where 3D Running Analysis helps 🎥
Identify imbalances, improve form, and come back stronger.

Huge congrats to everyone who ran the La Valette 2026 Marathon 👏

MYTH vs FACT 🏃‍♂️

✅ FACT: Strategic walking intervals can improve endurance, reduce injury risk, and help you go longer overall.

Run-walk-run isn’t quitting—it’s smart training. Even experienced runners use intervals to build stamina and stay consistent.

Listen to your body. Progress > perfection. 💪

Today we celebrate the women behind the miles. 🌸🏃‍♀️

Every runner has a story — of perseverance, progress, setbacks, and strength.

The women featured in this post remind us that running isn’t just about pace or distance. It’s about showing up, learning about your body, and continuing to move forward.

Through their journeys, we’ve had the privilege of supporting them with deeper insights into how they move, helping them run stronger, safer, and with greater confidence.

Different stories. One powerful community.

Here’s to the women who inspire us with every stride.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💜

Not just for runners 🏃‍♀️—we also offer 3D walking analysis and pressure mapping to uncover the root cause of pain while walking 👣. Whether it’s daily discomfort or lingering injuries, we’re here to help you move better and pain-free!

Congratulations to all runners at the Malta Marathon 🇲🇹👏

Finishing is huge. But what you do after race day matters just as much.

This week:
• Prioritise recovery
• Respect soreness
• Reload gradually
• Don’t jump straight back into intensity

When you’re ready to rebuild, make sure you’re running efficiently and safely.

Our 3D Running Analysis identifies:
✔ Movement asymmetries
✔ Overload patterns
✔ Performance limitations
✔ Injury risks
✔ Deal with pain or injury

Let’s make your next training block smarter.

Less than a week before the Malta Marathon 2026!

Remember…
You won’t gain fitness this week.
You can lose coordination, stiffness, and neuromuscular sharpness if you do not train smartly.

Think Elastic, Not Exhausted

How:
→ Keep moving lightly until 1 day out
→ Avoid heavy lifting 4–5 days before
→ No new stimuli (shoes, drills, aggressive stretching)
→ Prioritize sleep > extra training
→ Light calf + hip stability work

Most runners benefit from reducing volume 40–60% during race week, with:
- 2 days before: short easy run (20–40 min)
- 1 day before: either 10–20 min very easy
or Complete rest (if you feel flat or fatigued)

You don’t want full shutdown for too long.
• 0–24 hrs complete rest → fine
• 48+ hrs complete rest → some runners feel stiff, flat, less coordinated

Why?
Running economy depends on neuromuscular timing + tendon stiffness.
Too much rest can reduce that “springy” feeling.

Running isn’t flat — so neither is our analysis.
We are 3D.

- Dynamic — capturing motion and real-time biomechanical change.
- Data-driven — grounded in precise measurement and analytics.
- Diagnostic — identifying performance patterns and potential issues.

This is how The Running Lab Malta understands how you move.

Running economy refers to the oxygen cost of running at a given speed. 🏃

While an athlete may demonstrate good running economy, it doesn’t always mean they’re running smart — compensatory strategies can maintain efficiency while increasing tissue load.

3D running analysis quantifies joint kinematics, force distribution, and asymmetries to identify movement patterns that improve efficiency without increasing injury risk.

Stay tuned as we keep exploring running biomechanics using 3D analysis!
