“Anaesthetic nurses and scrub nurses carry the vital responsibility of advocating for patients at their most vulnerable — silent under anaesthesia, trusting us to care for them through procedures both simple and complex, day and night.

Theatre nurses work together as a team, and in close collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to deliver the safest and highest standard of care possible. Every role matters, and each one is essential to the patient’s surgical journey.

While a patient’s time in theatre may seem brief, theatre nurses spend hours beforehand meticulously preparing life-saving equipment, instruments, and treatments needed for surgery.

Peri-operative nursing is not just a specialty — it is a vocation. There is no routine in surgery, and peri-operative nurses remain constantly ready to meet every patient’s needs.”
