Did you know cats can get gum disease just like humans? Plaque turns into tartar, causing bad breath, swollen gums, and discomfort. Early care with brushing, dental treats, and vet checkups can prevent serious problems and keep your cat feeling great.

Headline: More than just a "long heat"—it's a medical emergency. 🩺

If your pet is stuck in a never-ending heat cycle, they likely have Follicular Ovarian Cyst(s). These cysts are abnormal growths on the ovaries, they keep the body flooded with estrogen, which is toxic over time.

Left untreated, they lead to:

❌ Pyometra (Fatal uterine infection)

❌ Bone Marrow Failure (Estrogen toxicity)

❌ Extreme physical stress

The Cure: Spaying. It’s the only way to shut off the hormone "faucet" and save their life. Don't wait—if the cycle won't stop, book your appointment at PetSphere Veterinary Clinic on 52557066

Stop making them eat from the floor. Gravity matters. 📉🤢 (The "Barf" Fix)

Your cat eats their breakfast. Five minutes later, it’s on the carpet.

The Mistake: You assume they ate too fast.

The Reality: They might be battling gravity.

The Science (The "Dip" Effect): When a cat eats from a bowl on the floor, their stomach is actually positioned higher than their mouth.

This forces them to swallow "uphill."

It compresses their stomach, which can cause acid reflux and immediate vomiting (regurgitation).

It is especially hard on senior cats with arthritis who have to crouch down in pain to eat.

The Fix: Raise the Bowl. Lift their food bowl 4-6 inches off the ground (about knee-height for them).

This straightens their esophagus (throat).

Gravity helps the food slide down naturally.

It reduces neck strain and vomiting instantly!

Do your cats eat from the floor or a raised stand? 👇

🚨 MEDICAL EMERGENCY: PYOMETRA 🚨

The picture below show the reality of Pyometra—a life-threatening infection where the uterus fills with bacteria and pus. Without emergency surgery, this condition is fatal.

Watch for these symptoms (2–8 weeks after a heat cycle):

Extreme thirst/increased urination

Lethargy or "acting depressed"

Vaginal discharge (pus or blood)

Refusing food/vomiting

Don't wait. If you see these signs in an unspayed female, contact us immediately at Petsphere Veterinary Clinic on 52557066
