Izumi is a beautiful Japanese restaurant with a calm, refined atmosphere and a very pleasant setting. The design and ambiance make it a great place for a relaxed dinner or a special occasion.

The food quality is excellent. The salmon is very fresh and well prepared. Sushi and hand rolls are generous, balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Overall, the ex*****on is refined and consistent.

That said, it is quite pricey. Expect to spend around Rs 2,000 per person (we were a group of 5), and the set menu is Rs 2,800. Previously, some of the set menus included beef, which felt like better value. Unfortunately, there is now no set menu with beef, and it is only available as an add-on at Rs 1,500, which significantly increases the bill.

They also offer hot pot options at Rs 1,500, and around Rs 1,750 for seafood, which in my opinion is on the expensive side for what is offered.

Service is professional and attentive, and the overall experience remains very enjoyable, thank you to our waiter Brandon.
However, since it is a teppanyaki restaurant, I would expect a teppanyaki show. Instead we were seated outside with no show even if I ordered a set menu and my friends ordered a bunch of sushi to share. It used to be great entertainment when the previous Chefs interacted with the clients. This time we did not even meet the Chef.

Izumi is a great choice for quality Japanese cuisine in a beautiful setting, but it’s best suited for those who are comfortable with higher-end pricing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A refined and memorable dining experience at BlackSalt. Definitely not our last visit!

located in the new extension of , delivers a dining experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. From the warm lighting and beautifully styled interior to the relaxed yet polished atmosphere, it’s a place where you immediately feel comfortable settling in for a proper meal.

The food truly stands out. The perfectly cooked tomahawk steak, sliced and served juicy and tender, was full of flavour and seasoned just right, clearly showcasing quality meat handled with care. The lobster thermidor was another highlight: generously portioned, delicately cooked, and rich without being heavy, allowing the natural sweetness of the seafood to shine. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

The pasta dish was comforting yet refined, well-balanced with depth of flavour and finished with just the right amount of richness. Even the salmon tartare showed attention to detail, pairing freshness with texture and clean flavours. While the calamari lacked a little crispness, it was served in a generous portion.

💰Prices are reasonable and aligned with the overall quality of the dishes.

Service was attentive and smooth throughout the evening, without feeling rushed or intrusive. Combined with the inviting ambience, it made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Note though, i think they should serve steak knives when clients order meat.

BlackSalt is a fantastic addition to Cascavelle, ideal for a date night, a long dinner with friends, or simply when you’re in the mood for well-executed food in a stylish setting. Definitely a place I’ll be returning to. Giving them a solid 9/10.

A beautifully designed experience with flavours that still need to find their voice. Located in the heart of the Capital, Mosaica is one of those places that immediately impresses you when you walk in. The décor, the ambience, everything feels curated and elegant. It’s clearly a restaurant that wants to offer more than just a meal, but a full experience.

We ordered a variety of dishes to get a good sense of the menu. Presentation was beautiful across the board: plates looked refined and carefully thought out. However, when it came to flavours, some dishes didn’t quite deliver what the visuals promised. The fish felt slightly under-seasoned or lacked depth, making them taste more subtle than expected for this style of cuisine. I would rather have the sauce on the side because the mashed potato soaked all the sauce.

The cocktails and drinks were also well executed and paired nicely with the food, adding to the overall experience.

Service was polite and attentive, and the team made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit, which definitely enhanced our experience.

Mosaica has a lot of potential. The concept, design, and atmosphere are already at a very high level and if the kitchen pushes flavours just a bit further and adds more boldness and consistency, this place could easily become a standout dining destination.

Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a stylish dinner, especially if you’re looking for somewhere visually stunning with a relaxed, upscale vibe. I would rate it a solid 7.5/10 and totally recommend if you wish to go for a tea time with your girls, business lunch or dinner or even date night. It also has a lot of space and can accommodate groups of people!

Hello foodies (sushi lovers this one is for you)✨

We tried some time ago (before the food influencers were invited 😬), once for dinner and once for lunch, to really get a feel for it and here are my thoughts:

The sushi is fresh and beautifully presented, and when a roll works, it really works. There’s a nice balance of flavours in some of their creations, and those were genuinely enjoyable.

We tasted 2 different bentos, both generous and satisfying, great portion sizes and overall very tasty. They use potatoes to make some of the crunch around or on the maki which i found so original and amazingly delicious. Bentos are totally recommended & worth the price!

The grilled skewers were well cooked & nicely glazed, but slightly on the sweeter side. At this price point, I would have loved a bit more contrast or depth in flavour to elevate the experience further. The mixed tempura was absolutely a winner! Loved that they used fresh high quality vegetables.

The salmon tartare with black truffle & avocado is a definite yes. This is an easy recommendation. The flavours are well balanced, though I’d suggest sharing it as a starter, as the combination can feel quite rich due to the natural oiliness of the ingredients.

The ambience is stylish and pleasant, making it a nice place for a relaxed meal. That said, during busy hours it can get a little noisy, which slightly takes away from the overall experience.

Service was friendly, although it can be a bit slow when the restaurant is crowded. Funny enough, it’s probably the first time I’ve seen chefs sending dishes out faster than the waiters 😬

It’s definitely on the higher end of the sushi price range in Mauritius, and they also offer more gastronomy-style sushi, which we haven’t tried yet. 😬

Overall, it’s a good restaurant with clear potential and quality ingredients, especially if you’re looking for a more premium sushi experience. Worth trying just with realistic expectation in terms of price!

I wish them real success and hope that they keep up the standard! I also saw that they do sushi buffet but that i have not tried yet 😁

Foodies! Gotta introduce you Pizza Time's if you haven’t yet!

This restaurant is small yet cozy, offering good food at a very reasonable price. It wasn’t our first visit, and honestly, it won’t be our last.

The menu has a great variety: delicious starters, pizzas, pasta, salads and main courses such as chicken and steak: there’s truly something for everyone. The food is flavorful, well-seasoned, and clearly prepared with care. Posting some of the dishes we tasted each time we went there.

Our only small downside tonight was the cuisson of the steak. We asked for rare and medium-rare, but it came out slightly overcooked. That said, it didn’t take away much from the overall experience, and there really isn’t much else to complain about.

The restaurant is quite small, so I’d strongly recommend calling ahead for a reservation, especially during busy hours. The décor is something I absolutely loved — sophisticated, modern, and honestly reminded me of some lovely restaurants we’ve tried overseas.

There’s a parking lot behind the restaurant, and the restaurant is conveniently located on the main road next to Cozy Burger.

We started with prawn tempura, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even though they serve six pieces, they were generously sized, a big win! The homemade iced tea and virgin strawberrt mojito were also perfectly made and very refreshing.

Even though the restaurant was crowded, the service remained efficient and well maintained, which we really appreciated. The Chef came out to receive our feedback on the steaks and his reaction was well appreciated.

They do not take cards so please ensure to have cash or juice/apps for payments.

Overall, a very nice that I would definitely recommend.

– honest 🍽️

Let’s start with the positives.
⏱️ Service was fast, food came out quickly, which is always appreciated.

✨ Decor & atmosphere: 7/10
Warm lighting, cosy mood, nice interior, definitely a pleasant place to sit and chat.

Now, the food… large variety on the menu but this is what we tried:
🍟 Truffle parmesan fries – no truffle smell at all, unsalted, and the parmesan came in long strips instead of being finely grated or flaked. Very underwhelming.

🥗 Satay prawn salad – only 3 pieces of prawns. For the price of rs500+ this felt disappointing although the sauce was good (peanut satay sauce, very original).

🍔 The burger had nothing special and there are so many burger places in Mauritius.

🍝 Beef brisket pasta – the brisket itself was well done, melted in mouth and the pasta al dente, but the tomato sauce was way too sour, overpowering the dish.

🍤 Fried seafood balls – no real seafood flavour, tasted more like potato fritters. The sauce felt like a cheap Thai spicy sauce (Yeos style) mixed with mayo.

🥤 Orange juice – not freshly squeezed, comes from Labourdonnais and costs Rs150 per glass, which honestly doesn’t make sense.

⭐ Food rating: 6/10
Good concept, nice space, but the ex*****on and flavours don’t quite justify the prices.

💸 Bill: around Rs2400–Rs2600 including drinks.
Now you tell me if you find that worth it.

Honestly, if it could be better executed, the would have been a great place to go back to. Maybe the other dishes could be tastier.

Hello foodies! Been a while 😬
I took a little break with a lot going on, but I had to come back to share this little gem with you.

This Chinese hotpot & grill spot, located right at the beginning of Jinfei, was such a great experience. China HotPot City offer an all-you-can-eat open buffet at Rs 1500 per person, and honestly, it’s 100% worth it.

You’re given about 1h30 to enjoy your meal, which is more than enough. They even provide a rolling tray so you can bring all the plates you want at once. Just a heads-up: any food wasted is charged, which I actually appreciate as it encourages no wastage.

The spread is super generous with plenty of options : seafood, beef, lamb, and vegetarian choices as well as some cooked appetizers such as calamari, fried chicken etc. Choose the plates of ingredients, make your own sauce as per your taste.

What really stood out for me is that drinks are included in the price, even alcoholic options, which is rare and amazing value.

The atmosphere is lively, the concept is fun, and it’s perfect for a chilled dinner with friends or a relaxed date night where you can really take your time.

Overall, amazing value for money and definitely a place I’d go back to again 🍲✨

Note: A Rs 600 deposit is taken in case of food wastage. Keep your receipt to collect it back.

Hidden Sichuan Gem in Quatre Bornes!

Stumbled upon a cozy little Sichuan spot tucked away in Quatre Bornes, and wow—I was genuinely impressed. If you love bold flavors but don’t want your tongue on fire, this place strikes the perfect balance. The chef, originally from China, brings authentic Sichuan flair to the menu, but with a local touch—meaning the chili oil is rich and aromatic without overwhelming heat.

We sampled a variety of dishes, from their regional specialties to some of the more familiar Chinese-Mauritian classics like noodles. Everything was full of flavor, and you can really tell the care that goes into the cooking. Our tried dishes as follows:

1. 炸酥肉鸡肉 Crispy chicken
2. 葱油饼 Chinese farata with green onion (100% recommended)
3. 口水鸡 Chinese spicy chicken salad
4. 白灼秋葵 Lady finger Salad in chilly sauce
5. 凉拌佛手瓜叶 Chou Chou leave Salad
6. 辣子鸡 Chinese spicy fried Chicken

One of the highlights? They offer hotpots on request and even make their own bubble tea in-house!

And for fellow tea lovers: we had the chance to try traditional Chinese tea, brewed with whole ingredients and poured the proper way—letting the flavors evolve with each infusion. Such a calming and unique experience.

It’s a bit hidden, so I’ll drop the location below for anyone who wants to check it out. Definitely a must-visit for curious foodies and spice lovers!

Bonjourno Foodies! I added a new pizza place to my top 5 pizza places! Drumroll for 🥁…mauritius !

They are specialized in napoletana pizzas cooked over wood fire and they are « mamamia! ». My all time favorite is the truffle pizza called Chaud Tartufo, the most expensive yet so worth it if you are a truffle fan 🤤 if you aren’t a truffle fan you’ll be one after tasting it. If you still aren’t a truffle fan then we can’t be friends 🤭

They also serve charcuterie boards if you love your wine and cheese 🧀

Service was quick and the staffs really friendly whilst also recommended which pizzas to try. The restaurant is cute and i’d say a chill place to eat with friends, catch up with buddies, family gathering, pet friendly (i brought my dog and they let us have a table outside which i really appreciated) 😃😃 or even couple date night 🍷

Sweet tooth? They have italian desserts like Creme Brûlée (recommended), tiramisu, etc

As you might know i am quite picky on my pizza places and i have one top favorite which until now no one could beat. Do you know which one? ✍️

Felicita is different but definitely in my top favs now.

Hi Foodies! We tested the new restaurant at and i just felt like i had to share this with you!

Service was impecable and food was delicious! They have several tapas and drinks but we went for dinner so we had their rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. We also tried their beef carpaccio as starter which was well executed 💯 they even included truffle oil and caviar! For dessert we tried their vanilla creme brulée and homemade sorbets (spicy mango and pineapple).

Overall we were really surprised by our experience there and cannot wait to go back when their shared platters are ready.

Keep up the good work ! Price per pax might be 1.2k depending on what you order. If you order pizzas or tapas to share it should be way less in terms of prices.
