Memorable Moment of AEH

From April 1st to 2nd, 2026, Addu Equatorial Hospital marked a defining chapter in cardiac care for our region and Addu City.

For the first time outside Greater Malé, life-saving cardiac procedures including Primary PCI, ICD implantation, and Permanent Pacemaker insertion were successfully performed at AEH in collaboration with the National Cardiac Centre.

These milestones are more than medical achievements they represent hope, access, and a stronger future for our community.
A proud moment for AEH, bringing advanced cardiac care closer to the people of Addu and the southern region.

A meaningful step forward for patient-centered care at AEH.

Our CEO met with Professor Dr. D.T. Ubbink from Amsterdam University Centre, to discuss the implementation of Shared Decision Making (SDM) in our hospital. This initiative will be supported by our dedicated EBP Champions, who will play a key role in guiding and strengthening this practice across AEH.

This collaboration also marks the beginning of an important research initiative on SDM, aimed at enhancing how we actively involve patients in their own care decisions.
