Some stories are hard to tell… but silence is even harder

She was born with a physical disability — her legs deformed, making every step in life already a struggle. She fled from the Democratic Republic of Congo seeking safety, and now lives in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

But even here, she was not safe.

Along her journey, she experienced a traumatic incident that changed her life. Despite this, she chose courage. Today, she is a mother to a young baby boy — her strength, her hope, and her reason to keep going.

As if this was not enough…

On 15 March this year, heavy rains destroyed the small house she had borrowed from a friend. It collapsed, leaving her and her child with nothing.

She was later given a tent by the camp management — but this is not safety. The tent is too small, not secure, and every night she lives in fear… fear that what happened before could happen again.

Imagine living with that trauma.
Imagine raising a child in that fear.
Imagine having nowhere truly safe to call home.

Today, we are calling on people with compassionate hearts to stand with her.

We want to build her a small but secure house (3m x 4m) — a place where she and her child can sleep without fear, live with dignity, and begin to heal.

This is more than building walls.
It is restoring safety.
It is giving hope.
It is protecting a life that has already endured too much.

If you can support in any way — materials, funds, or sharing this message — please stand with us.

Let us not look away.
Let us be the reason she believes in humanity again.

Yesterday marked a truly remarkable and impactful day at during our . It was a day filled with compassion, teamwork, and life-changing medical support for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

With the generous presence and dedication of visiting and resident , we were able to provide professional and perform examinations for patients who have long been living with serious and often undiagnosed health conditions. The number of patients who came was very high but More than 10 Patients presenting with , , and related to were carefully examined, and several important cases were identified through the ultrasound assessments.

Many patients received immediate medical assistance and medications on the spot, while others whose conditions required more specialized attention were referred to and for further evaluation and treatment. For these patients, this intervention came at the right time and may change the course of their health and lives.

One of the most extraordinary moments of the day was being able to bring ultrasound services directly into the homes of bedridden patients. For individuals who are unable to travel due to severe illness or physical limitations, this was not only medical care it was dignity, hope, and compassion delivered right at their bedside. To our knowledge, this level of diagnostic care being provided in patients’ homes has never been done before in Dzaleka, making this outreach a truly historic and meaningful step for our community health efforts.

This initiative demonstrates what is possible when committed healthcare professionals join hands with community-based programs to serve those who are often forgotten. The smiles, gratitude, and relief we witnessed from patients and families remind us why this work matters so deeply.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation and sincere gratitude to all the doctors and physicians who sacrificed their valuable time to come and support our vulnerable population in Dzaleka. Your expertise, kindness, and willingness to serve are making a real and lasting difference in the lives of many.

We sincerely hope that this will not be the last time such a powerful collaboration takes place. Our community continues to need compassionate partners who are willing to stand with us in improving access to quality healthcare for those who need it most.

Together, we are bringing hope, healing, and dignity to the people we serve.
