The Baylor Foundation has called for concerted efforts in raising resources towards nutrition and physiotherapy support for children that are currently battling with cancer.

Medical Director at Baylor Children’s Foundation Dr. Rizine Mzikamanda Jnr made the call in Lilongwe on the sidelines of a fundraising dinner aimed at raising K 20 million for the cause.

He indicated that 400,000 childhood cancer cases are registered globally every year, which clearly shows the severity of the problem.

Annabelle Mpinganjira of the Thomson and Barbara Mpinganjira Foundation, who graced the occasion, has donated K5 million towards the initiative with a call for more support from other players in the private sector.

Malawi registers at least 500 childhood cancer cases every year.
