Corneal crosslinking with riboflavin (vitamin B2) and UV-A light is a surgical treatment for keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and post-LASIK ectasia.

The goal of a crosslinking treatment is to strengthen the cornea, which in turn slows or stops the disease's progression, but some patients will also see an improvement in the quality of their vision and a mild decrease in the amount of correction needed after treatment.

A scleral lens is a large contact lens that rests on the sclera and creates a tear-filled vault over the cornea. These lenses are effective for resolving vision-related issues secondary to irregular corneas, refractive errors and many other conditions.

First-time scleral lens users often worry that the lenses won’t be comfortable, mostly because of their size and rigidity. While scleral lenses are considerably bigger than standard soft lenses, they are just as comfortable, if not more so.
