Repost of the first time Aaron Katchen and I got it together enough after Everett was born to go for a walk around our block. It was 2020 and we lived near Brooklyn hospital so we had to walk by literal trucks and trailers with deceased covid victims and huge groups of (rightfully) angry George Floyd protestors just to get a cup of iced coffee with our 2 month old. A reminder for me that we can take way more than we think we can but also of how lucky I've been.

So my son doesn’t want to nap and is screaming and so is my brain and my shoulders hurt from carrying him so if I only have 5 minutes then I guess this is what I’m going to go. Also I’m stressed because I’m trying to get my license as an adult and it’s such a b*tch. Making this video made me feel a little better.

You are surrounded by molecules. Through breathing, speaking, moving, you add and take away molecules at a more or less equal rate. Carbon dioxide, moisture, dead skin cells, germs and other microscopic organisms coming in and going out. Pulsating like an aura, crashing in and out; the way it looks to us from shore when a whale blows water through its blowhole - strong suction drawing in and then exploding outward.
