ACTP Welcomes Ruling by India’s Supreme Court
The Supreme Court of India has unequivocally confirmed this week: allegations against Vantara, the Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, are wholly baseless.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), comprising independent experts, conducted a comprehensive inquiry and found no violation of law. On the contrary, it confirmed that husbandry and veterinary standards at Vantara exceed national and international benchmarks.
Adding to this recognition, Vantara has also been awarded the Global Humane Certified Seal of Approval by the Global Humane Society.
For ACTP – the Association for the Conservation of Threatened Parrots – this ruling is highly significant. For years we have worked hand-in-hand with Vantara to protect and breed endangered species, including the legendary Spix’s macaws, and to return them to their natural habitats.
Sadly, in recent months, certain media outlets have circulated unfounded accusations, often without proper research and based on speculation. The Supreme Court’s ruling is thus both a complete vindication of Vantara and a categorical rejection of sensationalist attacks.
Most importantly, the Court declared:
Unjustified allegations built on media reports or speculative articles can no longer trigger judicial investigations. Such claims are an abuse of process and drain the resources of authorities and courts.
This landmark statement is a warning: hearsay and conjecture are no substitute for facts.
We at ACTP reaffirm:
• Conservation depends on partnerships, cooperation, and trust.
• Baseless allegations only endanger this mission.
This ruling strengthens our resolve to continue: for the animals, for biodiversity, and for a future where facts and welfare prevail over sensationalism.

ACTP begrüßt Urteil des Obersten Gerichtshofs Indiens
Der Oberste Gerichtshof Indiens hat diese Woche unmissverständlich bestätigt: Die Vorwürfe gegen Vantara, das zoologische Rettungs- und Rehabilitationszentrum, sind vollkommen haltlos.
Ein Sonderermittlungsteam (SIT), bestehend aus unabhängigen Fachleuten, führte eine umfassende Untersuchung durch und stellte keinerlei Gesetzesverstöße fest. Im Gegenteil: Es bestätigte, dass die Haltungs- und Veterinärstandards bei Vantara nationale und internationale Maßstäbe übertreffen.
Zusätzlich zu dieser Anerkennung wurde Vantara auch mit dem Global Humane Certified Seal of Approval der Global Humane Society ausgezeichnet.
Für den ACTP e.V. ist dieses Urteil von großer Bedeutung. Seit Jahren arbeiten wir Hand in Hand mit Vantara, um gefährdete Arten – darunter die legendären Spix-Aras – zu schützen und zu züchten sowie in ihre natürlichen Lebensräume zurückzuführen.
Leider haben in den vergangenen Monaten bestimmte Medien unbegründete Anschuldigungen verbreitet – oft ohne sorgfältige Recherche und auf Basis bloßer Spekulation. Das Urteil des Obersten Gerichtshofs ist daher sowohl eine vollständige Rehabilitierung von Vantara als auch eine eindeutige Zurückweisung sensationsheischender Angriffe.
Am wichtigsten ist jedoch die Erklärung des Gerichts:
Unbegründete Anschuldigungen, die allein auf Medienberichten oder spekulativen Artikeln beruhen, können künftig keine gerichtlichen Ermittlungen mehr auslösen. Solche Behauptungen stellen einen Missbrauch des Rechts dar und belasten unnötig die Ressourcen von Behörden und Gerichten.
Diese wegweisende Feststellung ist eine Mahnung: Hörensagen und Mutmaßungen sind kein Ersatz für Fakten.
Wir bei ACTP bekräftigen:
• Naturschutz beruht auf Partnerschaft, Zusammenarbeit und Vertrauen.
• Haltlose Vorwürfe gefährden nur dieses Ziel.
Dieses Urteil bestärkt uns darin, unseren Weg fortzusetzen: für die Tiere, für die biologische Vielfalt und für eine Zukunft, in der Fakten und Wohlergehen über Sensationsgier stehen.
